Hi guys, long time no post, I've been playing alot of Pink Floyd lately, especially their darker stuff, and i must admit i can hear Green Carnation in there, the melody, the melencholy.
Both gilmour and Nordhus both have a genuine warm timbre in their voices, tchort offers us deep and personal lyrics which make us think, both bands have offered us musical soundscapes (Darkside and Light of day).
Ok you guys are not influenced by them, and your a hell of alot heavier, but still, its there.
dont believe me, compare Two seconds in life to a great day for freedom, or Rain to high hopes (Division bell)

"Journey..." has definitely som Pink Floyd influences, which comes from the Botteri brothers, I think. Can't say that I find the influence that strong in GC's later work. Escpecially not "A Blessing..." or what I've heard of the new album.

Ole: What part in "Light..." are you talking about?

Hehe, wasn`t quite easy to find. But It must have been the following I`ve been thinking of; 25:00 - 25:55. It`s atleast a year since the last time i buried myself down in this album.

Hmm, I guess that does sound a bit Gilmourish/Masonish....

Its strange, ive was just watching the interview on the dvd, and the question about Pink Floyd was asked to Njetil. Glad to see its only the occasional voice I'm hearing;)
But seriously, the music might not be the same, But GC have more in common with prog then some of the bands today
