Well, my little boy from Serbia who lives in the Netherlands,
I'm 35, I've been around for a while now, being in this scene since the first breath of the second wave of Black Metal ,like many people likes to call it, and I can tell you that Morbid is a Black metal band in it's purest form!
A Black metal band is not only a scretchy sound with screamy vocals and thin up and down chords on a guitar!
I understand that you want to stand up for your opinions even when you are completely wrong, it's normal when you are 15 or 16 years old, but you have to accept the opinion and facts that are there in front of your eyes ; when someone who is in this scene for more than 10 or 15 years and tells you how it is, just accept it or take it in consideration because that person got more experience than you in this or that domain!
So now, Morbid the band formed by Napoleon Puke and Gehenna where Dead use to sing (and yes Uffe Cederlund and Lars Goran Petrov from Entombed played in Morbid) is Black metal to the core and was the essence of it!

I suppose those two terms that title this thread are a bit subjective and one may define or classify a term much different than someone elese. When I think of the two terms I commonly refer to them as Dismal, Depressing, Powerful, Personal, Unique and understandable. It doesnt have to be super brutal, satanic or 4-track grim but rather one who captures the essence of are and creativity. (ie)Black Withchery lacks these aspects in every sense!

While my list may not be the most popular I feel these 10 titles currently suite my tastes the best as for the most emotional/dark black metal albums. Some of my favorite BM titles not listed because they dont "fit the terms" heh! I think many are jost posting their all time top 10.

I think its safe to say Enthroned (the poster) simply lacks the knowledge and selcetion of black metal. Therefore one is limited to the knowledge that only one may possess!

Could you explain to me what emotion BW provides you with? I listened to the "upheval of Satanic Might" album and I couldnt even tolerate it!

Necrayas, if you couldnt tell by that sample posted I'll tell you BW is in vein of USBM style although its a very pathetic attempt. They remind me of Nachtmystium or Krieg but lack any real creativity. Just another emotionless clone! (dont get me wrong, Nacht and Krieg are great!)

Fenrir, thats a nice list. That VC album is "something elese". Not ment for everyone but its quite powerful for me. This is probably one of the most pure emotional albums out there. Glad to see it posted. That 4th track really "grabs" me in a twine of ambient and dismal daze!

Have you tried the recent VC album? Northsuite.
