Well - OK..

Currently answering interviews for Carnation and then you need some music.

Today I've listened to "Clayman" by In Flames and "If This Darkness Lingers" by Norwegian group Emerhoff and the Melancholy Babies..

Having just moved in with my girlfriend, there are lots of CDs to listen through.. nice!!

Have a good day!

At this moment, I`ve fallen right back to listen alot to the 2 first albums of dream theater. It`s been along time... And of course at least once a week for the last ten years I have been listening at the LOVE GUN album of KISS. Also bought the Bent out of shape album with Rainbow. It`s not quite Rainbow, but man what a great album!!!
Well, there you have it!

Dead Can Dance - Within the realm of a dying sun

and... Communic - Conspiracy in Mind - very good and young swedish/danish band. Their debut is very interesting with their style; mixing prog and some thrash and power elements.
Their vocalist sometimes sounds like guy in the Nevermore.

And of course I've heard some Green Carnation influences on this album. :D

And what do you think about the youngest SYL child - "Alien"?

For me is much better than "S.Y.L.". The sound is full of rage and anger but there is also a place for a very delicate ballad: "Two Weeks". It sounds similar to Pink Floyd's "Wish you were here" or "A pillow of winds".

I have only heard Shitstorm and Love? off Alien, but thats kinda enough for me to buy it soon.
I have S.Y.L and they have definately toned down on the spacy keyboard background, making the music more harsh arrangement wise. It's not bad at all though IMO, it adds diversity to their catalogue. It could be tiresome with the keyboards omnipreseent on every album. Plus, it has a fucking gem - Bring on the Young. It's so cool with that uneasy bass line and Devin's voice with a stressed psychotic vibe, than exploding into a mindfucking shriek. So, I would give SYL a fair 8/10.

Hahaha.. I'm not ashamed of any of my musical preferences, and Gorillaz was a really fresh breath in a normally quite not-too-fresh genre. No problems with most of Madonna's stuff, and I have been drinking with the former synth-player of Pet Shop Boys several times. He used to be the chairman of my football club in England, so they're OK too.. hehe..

Aside from everything GC, that is? I've been listening to a lot of Dream Theater (for the past 8 years, I should say!), also: Evergrey, Sirenia (my consolation after Tristania's 'Ashes': R.I.P. indeed), Therion, Ayreon's 'The Human Equation', Leaves' Eyes' 'Vinland Saga', and... Mike Oldfield's earlier work, which I have been a fan of for at least a decade. (I'm not a strict metalhead...)

But now I saw it in its entirety!
And now I really want a mog-wai to sing for me before I go to sleep :)

Come on... Tell me the age you finally made it through. ;)

You should look to see if you can find an mp3 of the Mog-wai singing online, and then record it in a loop.

Yeah, listening and watching stuff from your youth with other people around can do that... How can one not know Depeche? I find that with alot of bands. Of course being in the States, and listening to bands that are big everywhere else, no one has heard of some really great music here. It's funny, because I sometimes feel old about it, then other days, that I just listen to the best music, and it's better that it's not played everywhere.

It will show up in my signature below once I have synchronised it again.

For those who speak dutch: sometimes it also shows K3 in my last played list.
! Don't hate my for that (it's just that my kids really likes it)

I am of course busy with their "musical education": It is very funny to hear a 4 year old girl sing Rammstein's - Mutter. Strapping Young Lad's Alien is a bit too much for them :emot-gigg

Yep, I am a Wolverine fan: their music has that mix of metal and progressive rock that I like: not too loud but loud enough not to get boring. I saw them at progpower this year and their perfomance was awesome. Very intimate, very emotional, a crowd completely enchanted by their show.

Don't know if you have heard anything of them yet but If you want to get aquinted with Wolverine maybe you could start with The Window Purpose (His Cold Touch, is a great track). Coldlight Of Monday (http://www.dprp.net/reviews/200354.html) is also very good. There is some music on their Myspace page (http://www.dprp.net/reviews/200354.html)

Imagine this: a week before seeing Roger Waters and Porcupine Tree at Arrows rock festival, I will be going to K3 with my kids :dj:

Touring with Epica? Sounds good to me ;-)

Sorta, aren't they that band that has, um, created their own language? Been around awhile too if I'm not mistaken (formed in the 70s or possibily 60s). I've heard of them, but never heard their music. Mind giving a breif review of the record?

Yeeeeeeeeep !
We speak an unknown langage cos we come from an unknown country
the first album Kobaia ( the name of their langage ) had been released in 1970, and the last one K.A had been released in 2004.
47 studios and live albums... yummy

have a look on that website ( english link ) :http://www.seventhrecords.com/indexuk.html => click on Magma web radio to listen to samples.

I still like the original more. only because I think i'd been a death fan for quite a while. but they do justice to the song. and I especially liked it when they said they'd play it as a tribute to chuck.

So I hear a lot of rumours about Simone. About how she is really not that easy to deal with nor is she a sociable person. one thing is for sure though is that the lady is STUNNING.

Opeth - Blackwater Park (the song).

"Born the travesty of man
Regular pulse midst pandemonium
You're plucked to the mass
Parched with thirst for the wicked
Sick liaisons raised this monumental mark
The sun sets forever over Blackwater Park"

Gives me goosebumps every time \m/

Porcupine Tree - Feel So Low.

Who hasn't ever felt like this at some point?

"So see how long I can last
You can pretend that I don't exist for you
And I can laugh about it now
But I hated every minute
I was waiting for your email
And each day that you forgot to call
Just made me feel so low
So low
Christmas 1998
I tried to call
I just couldn't wait
And your message was out of date
So I left my voice on your machine
But you did not respond
OK OK OK you've won
You make me feel so low
So low (thanks)"
