Why has nobody forced me to buy this yet. I got it for Christmas from one of my friends, heard it for the first time Christmas day. Nothing like hearing this shit to make you feel like the worst guitar player ever. I don't want to start a best album of the year thread because every board on here has one but if we did, this has my vote. Amazing production also and it said in the cd that they did all the production and engineering on their own. I'm impressed.

hahaha, epitaph, hell yes. I figured you already had it al.
My vote for best death metal album of the year, possibly for the last few years or ever!!
Production is amazing, the sweeps are so flawless with no fucking string noise. Rediculous.
Guess what they used for guitars on the album? ENGL!!!!!! booya :D
ENGL Tube Rackhead 860 to be exact.

Mike was using the 580 on the tour, but he got the new 570 which he's listed reasons for being better that I don't remember.
he sold his 580 on ebay for $1800 last week.

I dunno bro, Jan is already busy as it is, we need full weekends to practice, and I think one weekend we might be going to NY for a couple dying fetus shows, if not, I might be able to come down for a friday night / saturday.

Damn, you just got this? You have been missing out, my friend.
If you haven't heard "Onset," You must get it. It's even better.

Now I don't want to start the 50 millionth argument on these forums about which album is better, but I like em just as much as each other. Both different, both mind boggling.
But Epitaph is my 'best album of 2004' without a doubt. My favourite band too. Sorry Goratory, you're definately up there.
Best DM cd since Death- Symbolic

do i even want to know why the fuck you know all of this, hahaha. Damn man, your quite the informative one. Anyways, what Fetus shows, how are you guys getting so many damn good shows, thats fucking awesome. Did you ever call Joe from DWS?? He'll most likely sign you and Joe will hook it up with the midwest gigs. But then again, everyone seems to be picking up HUGE labels lately so it might not hurt to wait.

There is no argument. Onset is better than Epitaph.
Behemoth is competing for my #1 spot. Disillusion is up there, too.

hahaha, well, mike and I post on Harmony Central in the 'amps' section. He's also on myspace and SS has their own forum here. He get's all his equipment from Derek B. / Rock Solid Amps in florida. Awesome guy, I just ordered a Decimator from him.
I don't know how we're getting so many good shows, I'm just busting my ass to get shows I guess. We need a break though to write and practice because we haven't been since like june.
I still have joe's contact, but we seem to be having issues deciding what we want to do. So I'm kinda holding off on that shit for now. What weekend in jan are you recording with BIS?

Best album of the year !!
taste different with a real drummer, less brutal than the first one but more technical...
Just amazing !!

The intro riff for the Arsis second track "Maddening disdain" is so awesome, ehhe .....:)
For Necrophagist, my fave release from them is their '95 demo tape !!!

arsis and necrophagist are both fucking amazing.
onset and epitaph are both fucking amazing.
but onset is better! :)
i read in an interview that they are probably going to use 7 string guitars on the next album, and the technical riffs will come more from the lower strings, resulting in a much more brutal sound. that makes my dick hard.

from an interview with necrophagist:
"CM: Yes, I agree that Onset was a little more brutal, mainly because those riffs were played mainly on the lower strings, while on the new album there are wider intervals and the riffs are played higher on the neck. I think the next album will be in between those two, the progressive elements of Epitaph and the brutality of Onset. We also think about using 7 strings on the next one."
I appreciate both albums equally, but I enjoy the production of Epitaph a bit more.

goratorys new release in my mind is the best thing in death metal since retch and lord worm cryptopsy, necrophagist is awesome but the songs just dont have that special something, like when i listen to the songs, there is never a moment where i just get a huge smile from how awesome what just happened in the music was, rice on suede has more than one of these special moments in every song, plus excellent production, i agree that epitaph is barely death metal, its good but the music is so soft
