Thank you Eddy for assisting with the last-minute show.
Hey negasonic, how did you manage to get Alchemist that show? Did you bypass the tour agency and negotiate directly with the band?
I hope to learn form your success so that I'll be more successful, too, as soon as Alchemist returns here "at last" ;) !
I tried to do the same here in East Germany and the offers by the two clubs that were not already booked out by then were ignored / sabotaged / ? by Loudnoise ...

Well, I contacted the band a couple months before the tour. They put me in contact with LoudNoise. I asked LN if there was a way to do a show in Belgium. They replied there was already a show planned and that was it.
Then I went to see the band at that particular show and found out about the tour-booking problems.
So after that, with only 2 weeks left we decided to do it anyway.
Things could have been better because now we only could make some last minute promo by internet.
Anyway it was a day to remember :-)
where are you from?

hehe that makes at least two of us :-)
I'm from Leipzig, a big city in East Germany.
I contacted Loudnoise in early September when I started to realize that they didn't get a German leg of the tour done the way they had promised. They gave me a list of dates on which the bands still hadn't been booked on.
By then it was really late and most clubs I contacted were already booked out. But I still found two appropriate venues In Berlin - the German capital - that were interested. I sent their information on to Loudnoise ... and never heard from the agency again!
In the Textures-forum one of the Loudnoise-guys later called me bad names and claimed there never had been any negotiations with German venues because there had been no interest in the
package. I refuted his allegations and he never replied again. So I got the impression that these guys are very professional and interested in doing their work ... :(
Maybe if I had been able to afford attending one of the Alchemist-shows in western Europe I would have been able to work out something with them directly ... maybe next time!
