What satanism mean for you?

First I want to say that your music is wonderful!! I love this hateful Black Metal!
But I don't like/understand the lyrics.
What is satanism for you?
And have you ever see a real demon?
And do you speak french? I speak french and if you speak also french (in Belgium people speak french or flamans...) it will be better to talk about this subject. I relly want to know your opinions.

Haha I have seen that question on Satanist.net I am a moderator there under the user name of Loki-9 (for the traditional Satanist forum) this question is very common but varies between each different type of Satanist. Its also on the CoS application form.

Even if you are into it, that Satanism is your belief , that you wander through the corridors of demonology and so on, it would need more than 10 lives to explore it's overall concept and mysteries.

We can as dust in the wind, explore it's surface and go a bit deeper, when you jhave the will and energy to do it. So, by just being interested it's normal that you will only see a corner of the top of the iceberg, which is normal ;)
Occultism, so satanism in some sorta ways got so many faces, branches and "sciences" like numerology, chemistry and even microbiology so yeah it's a long way to learn only it's basics.
That's the main problem in our scene ; too many people pretends to be satanists and are just Black metal fans who got some kind of interest within the question and not the opposite way, so the intelligence would suggest then to those people to not proclaim themselves what they are not in this very case at least.
But yeah, this is anothe debate of course...

Quite a seemingly simple yet subjective question.

The definitions and logics are endless. When I was younger (maybe the poster Enthroned's age) I first discovered the "reality" of Sananism after reading some of Anton Laveys works such as The Satanic Bible. I grew very interested with the opinions and general ideas "the church" had to offer. I valued the ideas of individuality and the personal benefits offered through isolation and the levels achived through various practices. Soon after I found myself pushing further away from Antons views of Satanism into more personal and occult beliefs of my own.

Ultimatly I dont label myself satanic or satanist. Like any other religion I feel this one also has its limitations and bounds that may hold back ones goals or desires. Somewhat used as ones cruch (or walkingstick) However I dont diagree with the broad whole. I mostly find myself living my normal life simmilar to what one may define as satanic. I dont have a problem wearing a shirt with Bapomet on it for example, still to this day I uphold the mythological values of the particular icon.

What I find frustrating is the mainstream conclusions of satanism. In American society the term is automaticly seen as the direct opposite as "god" or "good". People often confuse it as "devil worship" "believing in an actual god and devil" "inverse christianity" etc, the opposite of christianity basicly. While some may disagree, for me it couldnt be more clear satanism has nothing to do with christianity. I believe there is a big difference between satanism and anti-christianity.

Like I said, the term is quite subjective.

The main problem here is that satanism plays a big role in Black Metal lyrics BUT mostly just because this "satanic" lyrics belong to Black Metal and not because they are satanist. So, some "trve and evil" ( :D ) people think they are the biggest satanists just because they listen to music which deals with that topic and so the real scene gets infected by many fools.

there is a difference because if you are satanism's adept (pray satan, praise a cult to satan ...) you can't be anti-christian

hmmm i thinks satanism is something in YOU and because everyone is diffrent, everyones satanism is different! I hate people who say "this is the only way of living" cause it isnt! maybe it is for u but not for the others!

I like the idea of Anton szandor lavey, but i have added some new aspects!

Satanism is for my: being my own "god"; try to kill no animals; dont think that people are better than animals; Sceptism/Thinking; clear mind and many other things!

Satanism for my is just be like you be! dont care what other people say (so u will make some mistakes but better than do everything what other do!)!

so it isnt dark for my... satanism is not evil is just an other kind of living!
