I think Cult of Luna is a perfect match for Alchemist , they have a lot of similarities . I always thought Alchemist and Neurosis would go well with each other , so C.O.L should be fine .

Those writing Cult of Luna off , might be in for a shock .

I doubt it, I've heard plenty of their stuff as a couple of freinds like their albums, one whom has seen them live and was quite disapointed saying they were extremely boring live.

Neurosis...hmm..I don't know. Who does everyone else think they should of been playing with? I've heard they're with Katatonia in Sweden or somewhere like that.

Alchemist play with Katatonia at the Prog Power festival in Holland. I think Cult of Luna is a good match - They are heavy and intense but have a creative edge. Of all the potential bands for Alchemist to support COL works well. At least they have an established audience in the UK. Neurosis would be fantastic - Cult of Luna sound a bit like them I think.

I listened to the samples at the C.O.L.-site and wasn't impressed.
As for Neurosis: I only saw them live once when the mighty Voivod were supporting them and was so bored that I left after emptying my drink.
I guess my friends are right at calling me a music-nazi! ;)

CoL are aperfect band for Alchemist to support right now (esp. in the UK). The bands complement each other very well and it will be great for the guys to play to so many new faces.

In fact, they fit very well w/ Textures the other night in Amsterdam. Damn...Alchemist can play with anyone....

Cult of Luna are really good - It's a bit moody but the delays and appraoch is really starting to grow on me, they are heavy and mellow all in one - pretty impressive - will deliver a full run down when we return.

Why don't you marry them if you love them so much.

I'm glad you get along with each other.
My opinion in this regard is not important. I mean, what do I know about music? I never liked Metallica, e.g., and still they're considered heroes by almost all Metal-fans.

Yes, please do that!

Saw Alchemist for the first time supporting C of L on Tuesday and was rather impressed with them in all honesty. Outstripped all (admitted average) expectations i had. Liked the very friendly and self depricating banter between songs as well.

Textures on the other hand were disjointed, unstructured and a disappointment, not that i had very high expectations for them anyway.

And Cult Of Luna played one of the best sets i've ever had the pleasure of being present at. Love them anyway, with the newest album being particularly good. But you know if you're at a good gig there's always a few songs where you can just completely absorb yourself in the music; that was pretty much the entire gig for me. But i must admit C of L are very much a band who only appeal to limited number of people due to their odd styles of music and performance.
