Has this leaked? I think I'm tripping onto some fake links.

EDIT: Sample up: http://www.plastichead.com/mp3_samples/CANDLE141CD.mp3

Apparently this is the tracklisting:

1. Acceptance (aske)
2. Disciple’s Libration (Lost In The Nine Worlds)
3. The Cosmic Echoes Of Non-Matter (Immaterial Voices Of The Fathers)
4. Translucent Body Of Air (Sutta Anapanasati)
5. Antithesis Of The Flesh (...And Then Arises A New Essence)
6. ....The Meditant (Dialogue With The Stars)
7. The Alcove Of Angels (Vipassana)
8. The Formless Sphere (Beyond The Reason)
9. Elevation

And a link I found which has apparently seen its download limit:

http://rapidshare.com/files/157891372/_2008__Blut_Aus_Nord_-_Memoria_Vetusta_II_-_Dialogue_With_The_Stars.rar

I'm pretty sure they had expected the album to be done in 2008. Anyone have any information?

Now I'm seeing a 9 February 2009 release date floating around.

Okay, according to Candlelight:

I suppose if it was real it's out there somewhere.

Considering we're less than two months out, it should've leaked by now :p

So, I just looked on metal-archives, and apparetly this band have someone on 'drums', yet on TWWTG (only album of theirs I have) and on this, the drums sound really programmed? The cymbals especially. What gives?

Wow, I'm one song in and this is absolutely gorgeous.

Blut Aus Nord are one of those bands who've developed an entirely unique guitar style distinct to themselves. As Meshuggah has done (before others caught on) for example.

This is exemplified by the fact that when another band tries something similar, it's universally recognized as a "blut aus nord riff" or a "meshuggah-ism"

Case in Point: Leviathan's "Vulgar Asceticism" at 2:59.

Blut Aud nord riff in a Leviathan song, done very well.

This is new territory for them. The attitude of the music is different than anything else they've done IMO.

wachtourak
02-02-2009, 02:59 AM
What is their older stuff like? I've heard it's good but I think that was mainly from people who disliked the more experimental sound from TWWTG onwards and only like trve blek metal.

LesserAnimal
02-02-2009, 03:45 AM
The stuff before TWWTG was more in the way of traditional black metal, but they've always been an experimental band with a particularly unique guitar style.

This album simply feels vintage already. I've listened to it so much and it communicates itself so eloquently, I just feel as though it's been with me in my life for years and years already!

Definitely their best since Ultima Thulee. No easy feat. Blut Aus Nord is truly world class. Mmmhmm.

Generic BM to me. Usually, when an album garners this much praise and is called the best of 2009 by several posters, I can at least enjoy it somewhat. This album just fails to hold my attention. Give me the new Glorior Belli or Unholy Matrimony, as far as BM from 2009 goes.
