Willowtip Records is extremely happy to announce that they have signed an exlusive distribution contract with Caroline/EMI Distribution for North America. Home to other labels such as Century Media Records, Nuclear Blast Records, Season Of Mist, and Candlelight Records, Caroline is one of the elite distributors in music today, and shouldl help to make Willowtip products available in a wider amount of stores.

The following Willowtip releases are scheduled for the remainder of 2008:

October 28, 2008
KILL THE CLIENT - Cleptocracy
MARUTA - In Narcosis
PHOBIA - 22 Random Acts Of Violence

November 11, 2008
AS EDEN BURNS - The Great Celestial Delusion
TERMINAL FUNCTION - Measuring The Abstract

November 25, 2008
CROWPATH - One With Filth
SEVERED SAVIOR - Servile Insurrection

figured it was easier to post this so people know when discs will be in stores, etc and i doubt many people read the news on our website.

Great question.

... And the new Enslaved album from Nuclear Blast?

when are you guys gonna have only the SS shirt by itself availabe to order?

tipton

the labels we can get stuff from isn't going to change, so getting season of mist or nuclear blast stuff in will be rare.

SS shirts by themselves won't happen till after the cd is out.

just curious, why is that? Is it just how it pans out, or is there a specific reason for that?

Seriously, people don't even read the topic anymore but take every chance to vent their mouth on pointless arguments.

Congrats to Willowtip, this is how business is done!

i wish.... but i get the impression that many here don't understand or know how important this announcement is. this has nothing to do with distribution and what items we carry in our distro. this has to do with us moving up and signing a pretty major distribution deal with a large company that sells our discs to stores in north america. when you are a label in most cases you have a distributor that exclusively sells your product aka all stores buy the discs from them, this is what this press release relates to.

why not sell just shirts for preorders? for one its alot easier to not fuck up when you are packing a TON of orders and trying to get them out fast if you can just put a shirt and cd in every package and not worry if one pack gets a cd one doesn't, etc. secondly, i want people to BUY the cd and this is at least some motivation not to download it i hope. if thats what you choose to do, whatever but my goal is to get people to buy cd's in some way and for some getting the disc at a cheaper price in the package deal does that.

I don't buy CDs, and I wouldn't buy them in stores anyway, so I don't really care.

Just finalize the Magruder and Defeatist contracts.

How does this even matter? I asked him if he's going to be carrying the Enslaved because I want to buy it from a distro I like...

Obviously this forum is always on topic. How dare I stray so very far from the point of the thread : ( : ( : ( : (

Aren't Unique Leader and Crash distributed through Caroline as well?

I didn't realize they were a top dog, but Disgorge is, or at least used to be carried at the FYE in Lancaster.

it will take too much typing and most won't understand nor should they care about it either. but for indie labels the best distributors that most labels use are RED, Caroline, ADA, Lumberjack/Mordam. As with anything alot of it depends on your contract. We were with lumberjack before, lumberjack is whom Unique Leader is still with they are the only metal label there now that we left basically. I'm not sure if crash is even a label anymore.

They had really bad service and promotion - I hope they're finished.

Just looking at our current US contract, we still have another year to go before could consider moving on to Lumberjack or anywhere else.

yep...they will be recording the new full length before the end of the year. new drummer is amazing... i know its cliche but i seriously think this will be their best ever with great production too.
