So how come these guys don't get credit for being one of the pioneering forces of grind?

This is an honest question. I'm pretty ignorant about the history of grind.

Maybe slightly too oddball, also changed their style quite rapidly.

They were always considered as experimental death metal.

I've brought them up in this forum several times, not for being pioneering in grind, but for being one of the first oddball tech bands, with a dash of brutality

The only album of theirs that I have. I haven't honestly given it a fair chance though.

when it came out, it was very out there, experimental. at first I was like what the fuck, but it grew on me and I was like these guys are nuts

I actually remember liking the album. I spun it, liked it and just haven't listened to it again for whatever reason. :emot-LOL:

I'll definitely make an effort to listen to it again.

I heard another one of theirs shortly after I bought not to be unidimensional conscious, but I remember being underwhelmed. probably should take another look though. Im not even sure how many albums they have

Looks like they released three albums in the nineties, broke up, reformed in 2001 and released another album the next year. I'll have to check them out.

They fit both categories.
Them and Cadaver... two bands that don't get nearly enough credit for having done what they did, when they did it.

I bet Coma and dr0ne [and the rest of the 'grind' fans on this forum] have never even heard them.

While they're cool, I fail to see how they "pioneered" a genre that started before they even existed, and had an extremely small influence on.

gotta love a death metal band that poses with teddybears and little troll toys instead of standing in front of an old dark church in the beginning of the 90īs.

Maybe because O.L.D. (among others) came out with an album 2 years earlier that was far more experimental and better shaped the future of grind? lol.
