I have an European trip prior to CIM. Flying on June 22 so I might miss the quarter final game if the Netherlands end 2nd in the group.
Also going to Graspop festival which is in the last weekend of June. While the Euro Cup final match is also that Sunday, June 29 haha.
Oh well, it's still a long way and it remains to be seen whether we make it to the final match or not.

Damn, my drive is 8 hours. Not too bad at all. Used to a lot worse. But damn, 26 hours on a train is sick! It must have been damn affordable or something.

$300 roundtrip instead of ~600 for a flight. Plus I know if I was flying into O'Hare or Midway I WOULD be delayed as I leave from Newark. Newark to Chicago or vice versa is pretty much the worst flight you could take, its the two most heavily delayed airports in this region as far as I know.

I'm looking forward to this weekend though. Devourment, Suffocation, Incantation, Brutal Truth and Mortal Decay all on the same fest is pretty much a dream come true for me. That alone makes it worth the longass trip.

I'm sitting in Union Station in Chicago..at 10:59 CST waiting for a 4:05 train down to Urbana. It's going to be a long fucking day...but at least there is air conditioning and internets.

My travel log for this is going to be awesome. I met a 60 year old dude who offered me bourbon and apparently he also takes painkillers. He dropped one and these 3 little black kids almost took it. Best 17 hours of my life pretty much. Except for not sleeping.
