7 good-to-awesome tracks. 3 fillers. Not the best percentage, but the majority wins out, since it's classic Slayer.

Which songs would you consider to be the fillers?

It's damn good, but it's the weakest of their classic albums IMO.

Skeletons of Society is the only song I don't 100% dig on that album. Temptation is the most underrated Slayer song ever.

It needs to be mentioned that the title track is one of the greatest metal songs ever written. It's so badass.

Love the Cymbal sound on seasons so much, makes the grooves sound special.

The sound is great on this album but it can't save it from being one if the weakest Slayer albums. Hell even Divine is better than this one. IMO of course.

Truly an amazing album.
I think this album is Slayers most creative album ever, i think the balance between fast and more heavy songs, is just perfect.
All songs are all excellent in their own way, and the production is a good example on how it should be done.
And damn, Lombardos drumming, i mean damn, thoose fills and grooves.

It's definitely Lombardo's best performance as a member of Slayer.

I think Lombardo's drumming is the highlight of Seasons...
I agree with what was said about filler songs, though. The classics on that album are classics for a reason-- War Ensemble, Dead Skin Mask, and the title track are all amazing songs. Blood Red, Spirit in Black and Hallowed Point aren't necessarily "classics", but they're great too. Everything else, though by no means "bad", just seems a little less inspired.
I think that Reign in Blood and Divine Intervention (followed closely by Hell Awaits) are by far the best Slayer albums because they have no low points. They just rip the whole way through, and there's a palpable enthusiasm from the band (a rare quality on modern albums).
I also think that the albums which people heard first/most during their formative years as music fans are likely to be the ones they speak of the most highly. If Seasons in the Abyss was a person's first Slayer album, then it probably defined the concept of "Slayer" to that person. They may go on to love everything, but that first album will still be their quintessential Slayer album.

I actually own this CD surprisingly, and I bought it 6 years ago. And compared to all the Death Metal and Black Metal I listen to it seems so soft, i guess, but i still really enjoy it its no Show No Mercy or Reign In Blood but its definitely right after those two.

Add Show No Mercy. I love that album. Maybe not as extreme or heavy as Reign In Blood or Hell Awaits, but still a damned fine album with very catchy songs. No filler just pure killer.
