Nothing I saw in those videos was really unbelieveable to me, but it seems interesting.

I just fucking love Darkane haha... It's like At the Gates meets Meshuggah but meaner. And Peter Wildoer is one of the most creative and tasteful metal drummers I've ever heard!

this stupid computer's soundcard is effed, so i can't listen at work, but i'm confident this will be one of the best albums released this year. it weren't for cynic, i would definitely agree with you.

Augury was my original number 1 pick. Now I'm anticipating my top 5 looking like this...
1. Darkane
2. Augury
3. Anata
4. Opeth
5. Dunno yet, maybe Meshuggah, other than that I haven't really liked anything this year so it'll be another unreleased album most likely, Terminal Function maybe?

Wow fucking great. I've always liked Darkane, i think they're a little underrated and tend to get grouped in with the melo-death crowd, despite their thrash influences and the bad-ass rhythmic shit they do from time to time....good to see they're still together, i hadn't heard from them in a while.
and that drumkit is fucking sweeeeet

I was pretty bummed about Andreas leaving...his voice is one of a kind and was a HUGE part of their sound. We'll have to see how this goes, but it sounds promising. Peter Wildoer 8====D~~~

Andreas was pretty average live so I'm not too bummed. I'm sure they didn't pull an Iron Maiden with their new singer.
Haven't had the chance to watch it but I'm really curious. Rusted Angel and Insanity are still my favorites by far though.

Darkane gets way too little credit. I love all their albums. Insanity is pretty darn good.
But the top albums for me is going to be Opeth without a fucking doubt. It is going to be in the 1,2,3,4 and 5 place for me. The new Augury, Origin, Darkane, Cynic, Severed Saviour and Anata. Shit this is gonna be good.
And yes, sucks that Andreas left, he really had an impact on how they sounded, very distinctive voice he was pulling there.

There's a live video of the new singer and if you watch the first studio video on their website you can see him recording preproduction vocals. He fits the band very nicely, his voice is surprisingly similar to Andreas' style, with that sort of scream but still with a note underneath it being sung... I'm not worried.

Sounds promising, I used to be hugely into Insanity before but never bothered to check out the other releases for some reason, seems like I'm really missing out on something.

Rusted Angel > all other Darkane, by a wide margin.
