Hey guys, here is a new blog Ive started for musicians who want to record at home. So far I just have two installments; The Room and Monitoring. I am keeping them very simple and straightforward. Not too much theory just straight to the point so you can get to work.

Awesome dude - loved the guitar cab micing vid you made. You should do a vid on micing and recording drums. That would be very interesting as well.

hey colin,
love your blog. I was actually getting ready to try and track drums the midi way
with triggers and that. I know the cymbals must absolutely be in time(when recording real cymbals) If I remember correctly you did the new vile drums that way. What do i need to get this going? I have Have battery, fruity loops,DKFH and superior drummer, the DM Pro, Midi cables, Triggers, and am running on protools. the sound card is the delta 1010.. If I trigger all the drums, then send the midi via the dm pro to the computer, how do I worry about the cymbals? also I noticed you had the alesis midi trigger I/O, is this a tool i would need? Thanks for any input colin!!
