Recently i just got a 2112 and upgraded it to the newest 2120 specs. The preamp came with the Digitech control one pedal but it doesn't seem to work. I've checked all the connections several times and they're all fine. I may need to calibrate it to the preamp but after searching every official digitech manual, i can't find a solution. The seller said he tested the pedal before shipping and it worked fine, so unless he's fucking me over, it's in full working order. Any kind of advice would be much appreciated.

Is the pedal board turning on? If it's not even powering on, then it could either be the cable that is bad, or the pedal could actually be broken. If it is turning on, and it's just not functioning, then it could be a number of things. First thing I would check is the midi settings in the 2120. In the midi setup, first try setting the midi channel to "Omni". And if there is no Omni setting, set it to channel 1.
There is a manual specifically for the control one also. If you haven't already, download that manual and see if it has any setup settings you may have overlooked. I found it here:

Yeah i've checked out the manual before but it didn't help. The instructions told me to hold the utility button but that did nothing.

The pedal itself doesn't turn on at all. I have a monster midi cable connecting it to the preamp that i bought only a few weeks ago so unless it's the wrong cable, the cable itself isn't bad.

Sounds like the cable is fine, but you never know. If you have an extra one, or can borrow one, I would try to rule it out completely. If it's not the cable, then it could be several other things. None of which are good. Could be the midi jack is dead or has a loose connection in either the control one or possibly even the 2120. Or the control one could possibly be fried completely.
If you can, borrow another midi controller from someone and plug it into the midi in jack and see if that does anything. You could send the control one back to Digitech in Utah, they usually don't charge much for repairs, and have a pretty quick turnaround. Or buy another one used on Ebay. Good luck man.

Thanks for the help Mike. I'll find another midi cable to try and if that doesn't solve anything i'll get the pedal checked out at a local place and then ultimately digitech to fix it.
