Hello,
Aspiring guitarist here.
Completely newbie with all guitar things here...
First all, i want to play death metal primarily.
Looking for general info, such as...
What would a good starter guitar be? i have zero knowledge on this stuff...
What amps and other equipment i should get, etc.
And maybe any good learning tools, videos , whatever...
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure of your budget but I'd recommend checkout out an Ibanez RG. They have fast necks which is good for death metal. As for an amp I'd go with a Roland Cube.
Check out Rock Discipline and Paul Gilbert's Intense Rock for instructionals.

first off , learn classical . Then study it . Then you will understand everything else , learn your seven forms of the scale , and sit properly .
Try out many guitars , which ever one " feels right " for the price - go for it .

Agreed. I started out on an Ibanez RG and that's the only thing I play now, atleast for fast death metal. My LPC and Charvel are for Dropped D and standard stuff that isn't very technical.
A good model to start off with would be the RGR421EXFM. Wizard II neck, fixed bridge, mahogany body with a flamed top (good stuff), Designed by EMG pickups, and a blackberry sunburst finish that looks hella cool.

check out olp, great guitars at low prices. may not look so "metal", but pretty much most bang for the buck out there. or buy used, of course.
and the roland cube is cool

Well he said he wanted to learn to play some death metal. He didn't say anything about classical. While that would definitely be a great place to start there is no need to get holier-than-thou about music education.
Grab an Ibanez, OLP or one of these new Lagunas, a Line 6 or Roland Cube and just rock out for a while. The first hurtle is getting your fingers to act as dexterously as the instrument calls for since your fingers never really move like that outside of music.
^ yep, exactly - getting even acclimated to the point of playing power chords can take a week or even a month or three, everyone is different - the most important thing is to not give up, more so since death metal is the music you want to play - one of, if not the most physically and mechanically demanding style of music on the planet for any instrument.
To get you started on extreme metal technique, though, I recommend learning Emperor's I Am The Black Wizards once you have some Sabbath under your belt.

Yeah, before I picked up bass, I couldn't even properly play a guitar, even after trying for about a month. I got used to bass and picked up the guitar again, and it felt much more natural. So getting used to the instrument is one of the biggest steps.

Ah i remember when i first started
My shoulder died under the weight of the guitar.
One tip i'll throw in about power chords. Use the pinky as opposed to the forefinger.
Here's part of my story.
Started at about age 12, dove in at the deepend and got a 7 stringer (at this point i have 15 different guitars in total), learnt Korn's entire disco in about an hour, then started playing Slipknot tunes which really helped with basic technique, tremelo, palm muting, pinches etc.
Music taste developed a whole lot so therefore so did the songs i learnt. Played alot of Cannibal Corpse songs. Staring Through the Eyes of the Dead is a GREAT song to learn to develop basic DM techniques, especially the hammerons/pulloffs.
I don't really see the point of this post. But i thought i'd throw it in anyway
@Emperor, that shit is fiddly even now.

i was joking.

it's just a lot more comfortable in the long run. plus it strengthens the pinky which is pretty useful. its personal taste of course, people do what they're most comfortable with. i'd just say it's a useful thing to do.
either that or its just because my forefinger is totally straight and not nearly as flexible as the pinky.
