I put an APC Persuader Lead bridge pickup in my Jackson and I like it better than the EMGs I've used in the past. If you get an APC, be sure to call them to order it and specify you want the shorter version of the pickup. This is what I got. Many people have had problems getting the standard version to fit because they sit so high (they end up having to have the bodies of their guitars carved out to make them fit - which I'm not into).

I am keeping the stock pickups in my Ibanez as they have a unique sound to them - Carcass "Heartwork" sort of tone depending on the amp used.

I have a Dimarzio X2N (bridge) and Evolution (neck) combo in one of my guitars. The X2N has plenty of gain. It has more output than the D -Activators. I really like the sound of that pickup and it actually blends really well in mid position with the Evolution. This would also be a slightly cheaper route than the EMG or APC pickups.

I have the EMG 81/85 set in my LP and I love them, a really solid combo. I've never played a guitar with APC pickups but I've been hearing rave reviews about them too.

I'm liking the D Activator's I put in my Ibanez S Series. One of these days I want to try APC's since I've yet to hear a bad thing about them.
