DDRUM help?

I'm triggering my bass drum with a ddrum red shot trigger, and it is extremely hit or miss. I just played a show and was not able to trigger the kick because it would not pick up the signal. Does anyone know how to make ext triggering more reliable?

The ddrum red shot triggers are so frustrating I gave up on them quickly. I could barely dial them in, but when we'd get in a live environment with more amplification, the additional vibration made it all fall apart, so I was either double triggering or not triggering. I hate to play with tons of damping, etc, but to get them even remotely dialed in I had to damp and tape the shit out of my bass drum heads. And if you play a little harder at slower tempos...fuck.

So I switched to Axis (which was so great for so many reasons) and I now use their eKit trigger, which triggers off the pedal, not the head, and I have never had to worry abou it since. The easiest triggerring solution, period. Look into it.
