I was wondering what the best sounding kit youve ever played on. What type of wood were the shells made of? How was the tone? What ply? What make?

Interested in building a new kit and id like to hear what some of you think.
Thanks.

I played Tama for years and years, but honestly, the Sonor Delites are the best sounding drum kit I've ever heard in person. I don't think I could ever play another kit now. Look into it.

Every DW kit I've ever played, or seen played, has sounded incredible.

Im not building the kid myself, i just really need some new drums because my pacific kit has gone through about 3 years of bands and 3 tours.

I know DW sounds badass but im looking for solidity without having to drop 2 grand.

Any knowledge on how much sonor drums go for?

Sonor are quite expensive too. You gotta pay for quality mang.

Yeah, it's worth it though right?

I'm a Tama guy but I really liked the sound of some older Tama bubinga drums that I played once. The toms were thunderous. Granted, they were my teacher's drums and he really knows how to tune drums. One day I'll probably end up with a bubinga kit.

My old buddy had some Starclassic Maples that sounded great as well. All of the major brands have awesome kits for the right price. If you don't want to drop 2k on a set, why are you worried about "the best sounding kit youve ever played on"? I don't know any drummers who have played a kit that was their fav that was also cheap.

Absolutely, without question. I'd pay just about anything for a Sonor kit.

I understand that top end Tamas, Yamahas, Pearls etc. sound very good, but a top end Sonor just floors them. Worth every penny.
