practicing with really heavy sticks

any benefit in doing this i have done it in the past on my practice pad and makes my regular sticks feel like tooth picks when i use them on my kit can you see any good out of this?

in regards to dexterity and chops, possibly, but there is no real advantage to practicing with larger sticks for any other reason. your feel will go out the door if you play a serious gig or jam session after practicing for an extended period of time with large or heavy sticks, unless you have already maxed out on strength.

think of it like this. when you were in elementary school and you first started writing, you used a big pencil instead of a normal sized one, right? well using oversized sticks (like marching sticks or even just 2Bs on a kit) is what helps you get conditioned for the task of playing at an early learning age. in the same regard the standard for beginner drummers are 2Bs.
