Ok so im deciding on what to buy. I've been looking at E-Mu 1616 Pci interface and now my eye caught this nice little bastard.http://www.hyperactivemusic.com/MSProFiles/FirepodReview/01%20Firepod%20alone.jpg

Any experiences with it? Pros, Cons etc? Im kind of new when it comes to recording. There are some things i dont quite understand about this Presonus Firepod: Do i need somekind of soundcard to record with this thing or do i just plug it in the firewire? Is it compatible with sequencers like Nuendo/Reason/Protools? Thanks in advance

If you have a Firewire port on your PC, you won't need a 1616M - the Presonus will be your soundcard. If you don't have a Firewire port, a new 1616M won't be any good to you either as they don't have Firewire ports on them like the older ones so you wont be able to connect your Firepod to your PC.

Basically the Firepod(now called the FP10) is the dog's bollocks. I'd own one if I needed more than 2 preamp ins at my house, but I don't so I have an EMU 1820M. If you have a Firewire ort, get the Presonus. If you don't have a Firewire port, get a cheap PCI card and get a Presonus.

And it will work with pretty much anything except ProTools and Logic.

Get the Focusrite Saffire Pro 26 i/o instead of the Firepod. Same idea, but way better preamps and converters, plus a couple of other features that the Firepod nor Firestudio have.
