What do you think about it?
I don't like it as I really prefer the old one. I didn't order the new shirts cause it has the new logo.

Old logo > new logo
The music on the new CD will dominate as always though!

Their blood-sprayey logo will always be the coolest. New one looks like a deathcore band's.

I liked the old logo way better. Not too fond of the new one tbh.

i dont like the new logo
it's better than the old one for sure, but I think they could have done a lot better and got one that was just as brutal & sick as the music / lyrics.
Plenty of people out there that can do awesome jobs for nominal fees, like Paul Slagle, Zig or god knows who else.
Looks a bit too much like a skate/extreme sports logo the newer one for my taste.
but hell, it's the band's choice so fuck it.

skate/extreme logo is the best description yet

you should get the logo here alongside the old one and let the lazy people decide
to be fair, on it's own i'm not too keen on the new logo much at all, but on the new Majewski-pwned shirts or at least the one below it seems to pull off pretty fucking well...

if they got a sicker logo on there, it'd be sheer awesomenity.

They must be sick of people bashing everything they do. First Kunt Killer and now this hah. But still, changing the logo was completely unnecessary. They could've at least gotten some more professional looking logo.
well they're a good enough band to reach enough people that there'll be conflicting opinions on things, plus I'm sure they're big enough to be not only able to accept other people's views but open to them too.
IE, plenty of people slagged off 'kuntkiller' as a title, so the band thought about it and improved the title to one of the tracks instead making the new album's title the much better "Destined To Violate".
sounds almost like a prequel hah

you cant hide your true selves behind sophisticated titles, gorgasm!! WE KNOW YOURE KUNTKILLERS!!!

as for logo artists: there are plenty of talented people doing logos for free. Zigs logos, for example are totally overused in my opinion. they are all very similar.
unless it was your grammar being misleading there, Zig's never been free.
Zig's logos are fucking great. Some of the best out there.
I think they're used so much because they're so iconic in themselves and also iconic of brutal death itself.
Look at the Sect Of Execration logo and try tellin me that's not a sick logo.
Hackgore

yeah, that was misleading. I meant zigs logos are overused while other artists would do it for free.
I don't know whats iconic about a logo that looks exactly like a few others do. I'm not saying Zigs logos are bad, never, but hes getting repetitive.

fair enough man.
there is still something great about a Zig logo done at his best that just makes them stand out head and shoulders above so many others.
there are people out there doing them for free yes, but 99.999% of the time they're doing them for free because no-one would pay them for what they can produce anyway.
There's plenty of capable cheaper artists than Zig too that can do awesome logos and not just in one distinct style/look like so many logo designers seem to get stuck in the rut of only being able to do one shape/stylistic.

yeah, but he was an artist before and concurrently to being so iconic with DM so I think that earns him leighway.

I do logos for free and I wouldn't say my logos are too bad to get paid for. and I'm not the only one, you just ahev to take a look for it. but yeah, to pay a well known artist is probably the easiest way to get a decent looking logo, plus the effect of people listeing to your music because this one artist made it.
the chances are though, unless you have amazing underground connections and hidden gems, you'll have to go for someone that could charge around $70-$100 for a sick-ass logo that at least 90% of people will love, as opposed to going with someone new to you willing to do it for free who'll probably not do anywhere near as great a job.
9/10 you get what you pay for... although some people do overcharge for logos IMO.

surt, your wrong. believe it or not, but there are killer artists out there doing a very, very well job for free. and yeah, conventional logos get accepted by pretty much everyone. but I'd rather look for something outstanding. things ain't as complicated as you seem to think
I'm wrong because I disagree with you?
nice logic.
Show me one example of an internationally known band using free artwork on a non-demo release (that wasn't provided by an existing band member).
I'm not debating that there's people out there that do it for free, the fact is the majority of signed bands out there opt for someone who charges a fee - however nominal - because they generally produce better work than those who charge nothing at all.
Hell, can you even name me one artist who's worked with an internationally known DM band for free who wasn't already closely related to the band ie either through friendship or ex-membership or something.
Don't bitch at me just cause the fact is the vast majority of instantly impressive artists out there with mass appeal (ie not just appealing to a select small group of people but to most who see the image) actually have the common sense and frugality to charge people for their time, effort and creativity.
Or did you think people that work for free do so cause they can afford to spend practically all their spare time and effort to bang out 300dpi hi-res print-format proofs for absolutely nothing back?
who the hell was making things "complicated"? I sure as fuck wasn't.
I was stating the prety common knowledge that bands out there that pay for artists generally at least 8 or 9 times out of 10 get far better end results and packages than those that either refuse to pay for it or get a stranger in to do it for free.
Unless you have a member proficient with Photoshop or a really good friend good at it, the majority of bands will pay for artwork because it guarantees them a higher threshold of quality than someone unknown to them who won't charge them anything.
Not so complicated.

wow, thats a lot hot air for nothing. i don't know which international bands using a logo they got for free and which not. i actually don't even care. I just said that there are people around that do it for free and are good at wwhat they do. even tho you can't understand it but some people do it as a form of support. where do you actually know that the majority of known bands paid for their logo? most of the bands I know personally got their logo for free since they started as a unknown band ,just like 99% of the signed band and couldn't or didn't want to afford a "professional" logo,
I know, the world is full of capitalistic bitches but there are still a few supportive people around and some of them are even talented.

you were so busy jumping down my throat and getting all indignant, categorically telling me I was wrong.
How do I know bands pay for logos? Do you honestly think Zig, Studio Sho, Mike Majewski and all the rest charge money for doing logos & art just for the chance to make a quick buck?
Do you honestly want me to give you a big long list of bands with logos i'd be 99.9% confident that they've paid for their current / most well-known logo if you were to ask them?
Believe me even you can't be arrogant enough to try and say that there's so many bands out there that haven't paid for logos and are still well known internationally.
All i stated at the beginning was the fact that the majority of bands will choose to pay someone for a logo because of partly who that person is and his track record but also the fact that due to basic human psychology they'll feel lik ethey've a better chance of getting a great job done if they're paying someone.
Then there's all the myriad of bands out there who seek out precise artists simply because they are synonymous with a particular sound - ie Majewski artwork, Zig logos etc - and because they want to be seen to be emulating that scene.
Regardless of how supportive you might be of a music scene, the chances are if your work is good enough you'll be able to charge people for your work and they'll willingly pay you for it.
If you've not paid for it the chances are that you're good friends with a really competent artist with wide appeal amongst the target audience who has no qualms with spending hour on end tirelessly doing work for you for nothing or that the work isn't worth spending money on anyway.

well, I see your point and I'm to tired of all the virtual arguing.
I wouldn't pay for a logo myself, especially these well known artists simply for the fact that their logos all turn out the same. I wouldn't like my band to sound like all the others and so should the logo be.

I'm not a music major, but I believe this is possible. It just depends on the duration that the notes are played. For instance on guitar my fastest cleanly played 16th notes are are 230BPM. But I've played simple 8th notes riffs cleanly at 360BPM.
So depending on the drum beat being played, one could play at 350BPM. Now if we're talking about 16th notes on the bass drums, that would be pretty much impossible I believe. They'd have to be fast 8th notes to pull it off.
Tom is fucking fast as fuck though. whether it's just my ears or not but he blasts like a bigass badass fucking mofo on Disinter's 'As We Burn' too.

Hey man, my mistake. I was thinking of 360BPM 8th notes, but it's actually quarter notes. In a newer song we have I play a short burst of down picked power cords at 360BPM but they are only quarter notes. Fast but surely not overly impressive.
I did however used to have a riff in a song that was 8th notes played at 320BPM. But I ended up slowing it down to 250BPM which is what a majority of the song is at because that burst of speed just sounded way too odd and out of place in the song.
I guess I've never tried 8th notes at 360BPM. But I'd like to. Seems very impractical though to use something like that in a song. It would basically sound like slower trem picking (16th notes at 180BPM).

Well thats exactly how it works. 16ths at 180 would be 8th notes at 360. Or whatever subdivision tickles your tastes. Plus you have triplets and all that. Id like to hear someone pull off 16ths CLEANLY at 270 on the feet. Lots of people play triplets at rediculous speeds. New SOP for example.

My bands fastest riff is 8th notes at 310 bpm, and that is possible. SoP is beyonf normal human capacities though, so naming them as an example is not valid. :P

If my fat ass can hit 260+, I KNOW Tom can hit 350. I've had the pleasure of seeing him play more than all of you, I am sure (from living in the Chicago area), and I can certainly see the potential there.
Stop doubting the man, gee. Hell, 20 years ago, things that are a standard in metal now were "impossible" then. Human potential is only limited by the mind.
Having said all of that, measuring skill from BPM is fruitless and a waste of time. What if what you play at 400 BPM bores me? Tom's a great, creative drummer. I don't care how fast he plays; just that he plays.
