I just want to say too without making another thread...I'M SO FUCKING HAPPY THE PRODUCTION IS GOOD ON THIS CD. Not only is it good...it's EPIC. It sounds progressive. The tribal shit in Informal Gluttony sounds like surround sound with my Bose headphones. (These headphones could make anyone sound good...even Converge) Blakes drums sound fantastic and the tone of all the guitars sound great. Overall i'm stoked about the production and I was so afraid the drum sound would turn out like Alaska.

I also love the huge amounts of instruments used on this cd. Fucking Dijeri Doo, the percussion, trumpets, accordian, banjo, strings, and more. Job well done to BTBAM and Jamie King.

I went with the Backtrack for two reasons. I've listened to it most (being the start of the album helps) and I don't get lost in the song like I do on the longer ones. One of the few things I don't like about this cd is how long the songs are when musically many of them don't flow into one another. A song shouldn't be 10 minutes long unless themes repeat to dramatic effect. I'm not getting much of that with this record, at least not yet. I've only listened to the whole thing 3 times.

But that's just me.

Decade of Statues is easily the best, because it does the most with the most limited format and ends up being just as good as the more "epic" tracks like Informal Gluttony or Sun of Nothing. Actually, Informal Gluttony (except for the intro), Sun of Nothing, and Ants of the Sky all sound too similar to me.
