That's probably my favorite part of Alaska.
Seeing it live was intense.

bahhaah is that dan singing the harmony at the very end "fly awayyy" if so he hit is kind of weird. why isn't paul singing these parts instead? dan should stick to owning at bass.

Yes...and Aspirations...And Shevanel Cut A Flip...and the end of Naked By The Computer. He was the drummer on that album, if you didn't know haha.

i knew he was the drummer - but fuck man - hes awesome at singing haha. ive been wondering who did those parts, thanks dude.
fuck the self titled is so awesome. it grew on me so much. two months ago i couldnt listen to it in full. now i listen to it in full basically every day. it blows me away. same with silent circus. alaska is a bit more of a trek to get through. although the primer and autodidact at the end make it worth it.

i was scared to get the s/t for the longest time, because i thought it was going to be a terrible album compared to the rest, and when i did, i couldn't get into it at all. but yeah, the singing on the S/T is the best of any album, and i totally love it now.

Yeah, TSC was my reason for playing guitar pretty much, haha. Does anybody miss the huge threads we'd have for tabs around here?
And dude...The Jester Race is fucking amazing. Such a cool, surreal vibe from that album.

Fuck you talking about? You actually mean that or you just trying to get a rise out of people?
Explain.

I've been a fan since TSC came out. I love all the btbam releases and I love all the line ups...but come on...the new line up kills. Blake's drumming is way better than any of the other drummers, Dan is rediculous at bass and is way better than the previous bassists, and Dustie is super talented at guitar and didn't really get to shine on Alaska. I'm not sure if you are aware of the shit he does in Glass Casket but he's definetely an insanely talented guitarist.

No disputing the Insane talent but this ‘Pseudo-prog’ double bass drum get up doesn’t attract me to the band anymore. Maybe I’m just stuck in the past because I loved Prayer for cleansing and BTBAM's s/t was the one I fell in love with along with old website and the fact it was so new and refreshing at the time. I’ve enjoyed all the other albums though and No doubt COLORS will be something special.

no I am serious. While Will is better with sheer ability, the vulnerable singing on mordecai and dglmt is haunting... while it is not necesarily virtuosic or operatic in talent it moves me more than Will's singing. While his is emotionally powerful as well, it is more sure of itself in aesthetic (not teh song) and Tommy's smaller and softer rendition is to me more acessible

Man, I've seen Dan sing much better than that. He probably couldn't hear himself. Sucks when you're on stage and your monitors aren't loud enough for you to hear what's going on.
I've seen them do that song a couple of times live, and Dan fucking killed on both vox and bass. That dude is talented in both areas, IMO. This vid is just a bad representation.
And I'll agree that Will Goodyear was probably the best vocalist BTBAM ever had... Perfect vibrato, very natural and smooth. But still the current line-up is the tightest they have ever been. Blake has come a LONG way on the drums since he first came around, and Dustie and Dan have been the tits ever since they stepped in to begin with.

Yeah, they're all better as far as technicality goes but they have yet to write a song with the amount of sincerity that the original line-up had...

I saw them for the first time in April, and hearing the "it's raining" part of BM and that part of Shevanel were fucking incredible. I swear, everyone in the crowd yelled it with Tommy. It was amazing.
