here we go, I found it

i'm here man!

it's going well, having a lot of fun writing bass parts and wrote a few actual parts on the bass (i usually write on guitar). lots of contrapuntal bass lines (in a very baroque sense), some funky synchopated grooves over straight 16th note death metal parts, some gnarly fast unison runs, and of course some low thunder (ala the begining of 'all bodies').

and i can assure you we'll have bad ass tones on this record. paul, blake and i recorded an instrumental track in february with jamie (not related to this record or btbam, look for a hopeful comp release sometime), and we spent alot of time on bass tone, making sure it cut and had a real good sound to it. dream theater's 'train of thought' was my reference and jamie really nailed it. i'm really excited to hear these songs recorded! we'll start the last day of this month.
