Review:
Okay, so after an almost 4 hour drive (mainly due to the 20 accidents along the way), we (me and my friend Pat) arrived at The Station in Portland, ME. We hung outside for a while and then he went over and talked to dude from Cephalic Carnage. Pat happened to have haze on him so he's like "hey dude wanna smoke". So we walked over to a smoke shop across the street and got rolling papers. We pilled into the tour van and smoked a bone with him. He put both of us on the guest list (we payed before hand so it didn't matter much).
Now to the show...
The End - 7/10
They played pretty much all new songs. Animals, Dangerous, The Never Ever Aftermath, and a couple older ones. Not as good as I hoped to see live. Aaron (the singer) had a lot of energy but the performance was just 'decent'.
Cephalic Carnage - 8/10
Good, but the singer seemed flat by the end of the set. They only played a couple new songs. Divination, Endless Cycle of Violence, and then old one's - I can't remember which one's besides 'Kill for Weed'.
The Red Chord - 9/10
Oh man, fucking great. I'll type up a setlist tomorrow (I'm far too tired right now). I wish they had played more off of Fused, but they played mostly songs off Clients and Prey for Eyes. Guy had so much energy, this was the best they have been in the times I have seen 'em live.
BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME - 11/10
FUCKING. WOW. They opened up with a new song, it was pretty straightforward, but heavy as fuck. Alot like something off of TSC, but had more dimensions. Growls, clean signing, you name it. It was pretty close to death metal. Then the set list proceeded as:
All Bodies
Camilla Rhodes
Fire For a Dry Mouth
Shevanel Cut a Flip
Sun of Nothing - HOLY SHIT. This song was basically a combination of everything BTBAM has done. HEAVY. Then epic jazzy parts. Then the polka break, which wasn't really "polka", but more like a weird section of doomy jazz. I don't even know how to explan it, but it fit the song well and wasn't overdone and lengthy. The rest of the song was just epic riffs, clean singing parts and some almost At The Drive-In esque guitar parts. Everything was faster, jazzier, HEAVIER, more melodic and crazy at the same time. I don't even know.
Selkies
After the show
Bought two shirts (one BTBAM shirt and one TRC shirt and bought Prey for Eyes). Spoke to guy for a little bit around the merch tables. Then I talked to Tommy for a minute or so. He talked about the upcoming tour and I shook his hand, got his autograph. I never realized how short he is, I'm like a 1/2 inch shorter.
Then drove home, only took 2 hour or so to get back.
Oh, and no Mordecai encore. Apparently the place has a curfew so they couldn't play past 11.
All in all, AMAZING.
I couldn't get any pictures, but I'll find some and post them.

hah yeah it does sorta sound like polka....guess it sounds different live....on the album it sounds like a quintessential 311 groove part and tommy sounds exactly like Nick Hexum
