I was just listening to Autodidact, and the bass is pretty sweet.
The breakdown near the end is sweet, too.
What do you guys think?

His bass playing in this song is pretty nuts. I think the shit he does in All Bodies is rediculous though.

lol I bet there are so many of you here that suddenly realised he was good after seeing the studio video with the solo thing. No one ever seemed to talk about him, now I see so much jocking.

He is good though, of course.

Man, it's really hard to pick. Every Bass line he writes is a creative work of art. He's got great talent.

Haha, I've always paid attention to him because I play bass.

Oh, and I just got my dad's old ass Bose 301s and an NAD 7140. Alaska sounds fucking boss.

I thought about putting Alex Webster, but he's too obvious. Guaranteed there is only a handful of people on the BTBAM board who know who Erlend is...dude is absolutely fucking ridiculous and deserves to be making large amounts of money just for playing bass in his house.

PS I dunno why we're linking Mason to vids, he doesn't even have a sound card.

And by the way, this is from this (http://www.riversofgore.com/ErlendInterview.htm) interview:

"Alex Webster said in a recent interview that you you are one of the best players of this generation on his opinion..."

Like I said, Erlend is painfully underexposed...Dan is great but is miles away from being the best in the genre/subgenres. Listen to Erlend's bands!

The Allseeing I (http://www.myspace.com/theallseeingi)
Vile (http://www.myspace.com/vile)
Blood Red Throne (http://www.myspace.com/bloodredthrone666)

And he's working with Deeds Of Flesh as well...and maybe some others.

Yeah I've known about Erlend for a while; his videos on youtube are pretty messed up. I think the stuff he does where he taps the same the notes that he plays with his left hand is really innovative, he definitely needs more exposure.

ever since I saw dan play with btbam I thought he was awesome, not since the recent video. I don't know about anyone else though

Yeah...I think anyone could have an ear for Dan. I knew he was awesome ever since I heard Alaska. The studio video doesn't have anything to do with us worshipping Dan. But yeah he does tear it up in that video. Can't fucking wait to hear his shit on this cd.
