Hey dudes. I mentioned in the bass topic that after looking at Dissecting The Angels I could play it as 8th notes. Well after about 12 hours of looking at the tab I recorded a little bit of the song. I entered it up into GP and played along. I made a couple rythem problems but ah what the hell! Some of the shifts are very long and fast so I might of over/under shifted :emot-roll
Its played at 190 bpm

I will update this later in the week. I am gonna practice up a bit and record at the real tempo. I think its like 205 bpm
Ps. I am using a pick so if it sounds a bit anusy its because I havent used a pick on bass in a while :emot-LOL: couldnt hit the speeds with fingers :emot-fail

Yea I think its played at 210 on the cd. Ill post a new clip on Friday of it at 210 hopefully if I can get it that fast. I am sure i will have no problem. Ill be sure to turn the treble down a bit so you cant hear my shifts as much :emot-LOL: There will be less slop next time too

Yeah I did.
It sounded kind of weird with the 8th notes played on the 16th note parts. Triplets might make it sound a little closer. I've heard some bassists say that they feel that even triplets at fast tempos will blur when played along with a couple guitar tracks, so you can't really hear that they are triplets.
But hey, it's cool to see someone trying to play this stuff. Most people don't put any effort into it.
As for the tempo, I don't exactly remember, but 220bpm sounds about right.

I will try the triplets out. The 8ths playing to the guitars 16ths sounds alright to me. it def. grooves nice with the guitar live i bet.
Keep in mind I am only 16 ahaha. I will keep pounding it out with the metronome getting my speeds up. Hopefully you guys will be looking for a bassist in 2 years I would be honored to join.

Yeah, perhaps the 8ths wouldn't sound as odd if there was guitar there with them.
And dude, I sure as hell hope we're not still looking for a full time bassist two years from now. But at the same time it wouldn't surprise me. So keep up the skills and who knows.

Question on the tab, what is the bar above Riff A? I'm confused to be honest about it. Is that bar the 2nd guitar line for Riff A or not?

Hey man, I'm not sure what song you're talking about, but chances are that first bar is the first riff of the song. And that Riff A is the second riff. The reason the first riff isn't labeled anything is probably because it's only played that one time in the song, so no need to reference it later in the song by it's label. Understand what I mean? Sorry, I know that older tab sorta sucks.

4 years this Christmas. I started with electric fretted for 2 years then moved to fretless for 2 years. I also play string bass or double bass. I have been playing string bass for 2 years now and thats where I am gonna make all my dreams come true aha. Pro orchestras pay ALOT of money.

go for it bro. i wish you the best of luck and success with it.
too bad i live in Brazil. trying to make a live out of music down here is way to risky. doubtless, i would go to college for music and become a professional musician if i were somewhere else. unfortunately, music is just a hobby for me.

Aha yea man its hard to make it in music. If your going to do any metal band or anything like that your gonna be lucky to make any money. You will make money off your cds if they sell well. Playing living is amazing so if you really love it it evens out.
Collage for music will bring you alot more money. Doing season work with bands and etc.. I am gonna have to do 5 years in a major collage to get my degree but after that ill be on my way to a pro orchestra. Its gonna be hard work but making 140-400 grand a year will pay off ahah. After a couple years of bust my dick in the classical world I can buy a house and smoke weed all day and join a metal band. Bassicly enjoy life and live it and not worry about anything aha.
Keep on plucking!
