Fuck I can't wait for this album! The promo tracks will be on it, I'm sure about that. But why can't you see them? I see you live in NY...

hah i love how they've played on both sides of you yet you've not been able to see them.

Not saying that to intentionally be an ass... it's just usually me that finds himself in that situation hah. Plus it is really unfortunate that they're playing CIM on the left hand side of you (as you look at the map) and they've played Germany (and going back to Europe for Switzerland's Mountains Of Death) on the right hand side of you on the map.

Probably just me over simplifying it though hah

I'm just in a bit of a giddy mood anyway as I just found out apaprently Immolation AND Suffocation are playnig on the same bill in Chicago like two days after I get there on holiday ('vacation' to you)... pant-wettingly godly.

nah, i think Mike was just a one-off to help them out with their Death Feast show rather than a permanent addition.

I imagine there's a possibility of him coming back over with them in August for Mountains Of Death but that depends on if he's availible and if Leski & Master 'blaster haven't found themselves a permanent bassist yet.

i would hate to learn a bunch of gorgasm songs for ONE show

well to be honest man, as much as I'd soil my pants if it happened, I don't think Mike's going to become the permanent Gorgasm bassist without something either going wrong with Origin or it being a relatively long distance thing bandwise with Topeka being like 500 miles or so from Chicago.

i thought they were pretty fuckin cool actually... and I hate outdoor festivals for the severe degradation in sound quality compared to in a club.

I guess I'm just someone who's pleased with seeing Gorgasm live full-stop...

plus it had Mike fucking Flores on bass for shits sake!

lighten up :P

outdoor festivals can sound so much better than club shows but in that case it didn't.
and believe me, I was AT LEAST as excited about seeing gorgasm with mike flores as you were but that doesn't make the horrible sound sitation better.

yeah, but I'm saying it's hardly the bands fault that their sound is liable to be compromised by the fact they're playing in the middle of a fucking field, plus there's hardly anything they could realistcally do to make it any better.

IMO they were no more stifled than any of the other bands that played..

well, besides the sound, they played a bit untight. and one of the most important things in gorgasm is the vocal-trio. I really missed something there.

well no offence mate but I think you're completely on your own on that.

No-one I've spoken to so far who saw them at Death Feast thought they were anywhere near shit, 'untight'.

Besides, I'd like to see you fuckin do better.

and one of the most important things in gorgasm is the vocal-trio
like the fact that Mike did some vocals as well?

I'm pretty certain from where I was stood - ie not far from directly in front of him - that I saw him do at least some vocals at a couple of occasions.

Add in the fact that he would have had to have learnt an entire set's worth of material in a very short space of time, let alone the lyrics and shit.

Apologies if i seem like I'm being really stubborn in this, but I honestly can't see why you seem so disgruntled.

relax dude, I'm not saying I'm able to do it better, I just let you know my sight of their show.
I can't remember that show exactly but the drums felt a bit untight and I'm not alone with that but lets get away from this.
sure, the sound wasn't their fault but still it ruined it for me. plus the fact that theres been something missing in the show and vocal-wise.
yeah, sure Mike did vocals. thats makes two vocalists, not three ;)
still, Damien did the main part and the fast switches between them missed.

believe me, there was probably noone at this festival who was more excited about seeing gorgasm than me. maybe thats the reason why I've been dissapointed. I've probably expected too much.

anyways, thats not gonna change my oppinion about Gorgasm, they are still one of my favourit bands and I'm dying to see them again.

Hackgore, I hold the same opinion you do. Gorgasm is one of my favorite bands, as Masticate was the album that got me into brutal DM. And while the show at Deathfeast didn't suck, my hopes were so high that it was a letdown for three reasons. First the sound, which just plain sucked, as it had been sucking for most bands that day. Second reason is the lack of a second guitar, which imo contributes greatly to Gorgasm as a whole. And last but not least, the songs they played. Two songs from Masticate? Come on. That album is so fucking good, they should have played more from it.
Apart from those three things, it was a great show, and I was going crazy in the mosh pit.

Yeah,

is the album already recorded (last news I heard was that Gorgasm would enter a studio in december 07) or did the band cancel the date due to the unclear label situation?
