I saw the Fiery Furnaces the other night and it got me thinking.. BTBAM should play "Colors" from start to finish on the first tour. Here's why:
1. We've heard and seen the older material plenty of times.. fuck the new fans.
2. Headliners shouldn't be playing 40 minute sets.
3. It would be the first time they added something new to their live show (ever?) Replacing members doesn't count.
Think about it, you could leave with a new memory, not just thinking "i saw btbam play a bunch of songs again." I truly think seeing the new album and an encore would be a wonderful experience for everyone in attendance, every night.

I think that's an awesome idea. Dredg this past fall played Leitmotif live all the way through and then El Cielo with a couple Catch Without Favorites and other new songs. I think it's a great idea and a good treat for fans. Btbam should definetely do it.

I'm def. for it, but they won't do it. Also, their faggot fans would just be like "WTF I WANT MORDECAI".

Every great band should do something like Opeth did with Lamentations. Play one set of the new album in its entirety followed by a set of awesome tracks from previous albums. :D

I'm for it, but not in Btbams case. Once you, as a band, are set for life, then yes. So Opeth, Deftones, Nine Inch Nails, Meshuggah, sure, I'd love to hear an album non-stop. However bands like Btbam still have to play to the crowd and keep their tour support at all costs, otherwise come label-signing time, they'd be screwed, and working shitty jobs in NC. None of us want that. They just aren't at the stage where they can do whatever the fuck they want yet. They have to play it safer.

I hate seeing albums played all the way through. I get bored as shit.

I would like to see this. I usually listen to an album all the way through and seeing it reproduced live would be awesome. It'd just have to be an awesome album that all the songs were interesteing. Plus, the encore set would be a must.

I saw Roger Waters not too long ago. He did a random set, then Darkside of the Moon all the way through....It was all good, just got a little boring to be honest. Random set was better. here's predictions for BTBAM's set list for this tour, in order
Autodidact
New song #1
Selkies
New Song #2
Destructo Spin
Mordecai
Alaska or All Bodies

I don't think they should/are going to do Selkies and Mordecai, maybe not either. If they have a song with a similar style on the new record, they'll do that and forget the old ones for at least a while. If they don't, they'll alternate between Selkies and Mordecai, but never both.

Meshuggah is set for life? lols
how aren't they?
I don't think he means money-wise... I think he means fame-wise. Maybe they aren't topping the chart, but probably for the rest of their careers, they will have the respect of the metal world. Thats probably what he means.
Same with like... Necrophagist... they're playing Epitaph start to finish, but they sure as fuck aren't set for life as far as money goes... but as far as the respect of the metal world, they probably are, at least for a while.

Yeah as long as Meshuggah don't do something utterly stupid like start releasing Loads, Reloads and St. Angers, then they'll be ok.

Personally, I like the sense of unpredictability that comes along with playing live. So... Yay for bands who play sporadic sets.

good point.
I think that if they took one of those away, they would throw Roboturner in there
