From their myspace
Dear Red Army,
Tomorrow our summer officially begins.
We are done with recording and ready to rock all summer long on Warped tour. We are very proud of the new record we just completed and can’t wait for you to hear it. We are looking to release it in October.
We will have lots of news and fun announcements, contests, and a new song along the way, so keep a look out for stuff. On another note we feel like we have a lot of good new merch for Warped (and more coming as we go). So say hello to our friends Erin and Rory in the Merch booth.
And we’re sure you’ve heard the rumors and they’re true. We would like to welcome our new drummer, Chris Pennie. He is a phenomenal drummer and we look forward to playing with him this summer and beyond. We are very lucky to have him on board, so give him a shout out at the shows.
As the summer progresses, you will start hearing more and more about our new album and we hope you are as excited as we are about it all unfolding.
Love,
Claudio, Travis, Mic and Chris.

*I know I fucked up the title. I can't help but always spell his name that way.

I still feel bad about Pennie going to Coheed and ditching Dillinger, even though Coheed is my favorite band behind BTBAM.
But at the same time: Hell yes.

I enjoy Coheed. Except for one cd, its all pretty good. Pennie, whether or not all you agree, could be a really good fit in Coheed, because of his insane skill, and what that band is trying to do musically (with the prog and shit).
however, who the fuck is dillinger going to get?

True. I'm sure Pennie will fit in just fine. 'Cause he's Pennie.
And dude, where have you been for the past two weeks?
Gil Sharone = permanent DEP drummer

the clips with Gil sound pretty sick from the few clips here and there, though I'm pretty sure the album is going to be a dissapointment. Even if its not, I hope he can handle Pennie's parts.

I think Gil will come through, and the new Dillinger won't be a dissapointment. Although, Pennie will still be missed greatly.
And the new Coheed better be amazing.

I'm not real impressed with what I've seen from Gil(compared to Pennie) and his other band, Stolen Babies, is pretty fucking gay IMO. I also think Coheed is damn obnoxious and unworthy of Pennie's talents.

compared to Pennie. Sure he's a great drummer, but fuck it. I'm probably just bitter over pennie leaving.

when i came on here a few months back and told all of you this, you all said I was lying......now you all have to accept the fact that I was right....and to whomever went and told Greg that I confirmed the rumor, thanks alot, jackass

I didn't think you were lying, since you seem to know a lot. But anyway, since the story is now confirmed,
well i saw greg friday in baltimore, he told me, but i have known this for atleast 2 weeks when chris escaped his relapse contract and broke free of the band....they got some other dude who is an "equal" to chris skills wise, he is going to record the last record then i dont know what they plan on doing after that. but there is alot to this story that alot od people dont know about....I am just not at liberty to say what it is that went down to make all of this happen, but it is complicating on everyones part in the band
could you maybe go into this "alot to the story that people don't know"? BTW, I still think these should be made

(I don't really think the band will be horrible now, but it's a pretty funny shirt imo)

even those of you worthless queers who are happy about him playing with coheed have to see what a fucking waste of talent this is.

Fuckin' hell...The worst part is that, to 95% of Coheed's fans, he's just going to be the new bald guy.
WHAT THE FUCK CHRIS
PS I think I see Mazn in the crowd.

Yep.
Coheed is one of my most favorite bands, and I'm glad to have Pennie in the band, but the rest of Coheed's fans, Chris or not, are fucking faggots.
"im not blaming chris i'm saying that maybe the switch might have made claudio want to write differently, more bland-like. i just miss old coheed thats all."
WTF?
I don't want Pennie in Coheed. I'm glad to have the talent, but Pennie = DEP.
It doesn't feel right having him there.
Oh, and BTW, fucking terrible song.

Ya know, I don't give two shits bout Coheed, but I'm glad that Chris is getting a shot at actually making a career out of his drumming. That wasn't ever going to happen with DEP. Dude is probably sick and fucking tired of eating ramen noodles. And if he likes Coheed and can jam with them for money, then it's a win/win situation if you ask me (not that I give a fuck if you did).

you have no idea what you're talking about.
DEP toured with fucking AFI last summer, they are doing very well these days. i got to check out their tour bus when we played with them, and it was loaded.. beds for 12, a full kitchen, several flat screens, video game systems, satellite tv/internet.

You mean that tour bus that someone else rented for them? Of course they get that kind of treatment touring with AFI, but I can guarantee that DEP couldn't headline a tour and travel with those kinds of amenities. No fucking way. Sure, they do pretty well for themselves while they're touring, but Pennie will be making enough with Coheed to retire on. Easy. Can't say the same for the rest of the DEP guys. Not at this point in their careers, at least.

the point of being in a band and making music is not to fucking retire early. jesus christ.
yes they rented it for that tour, but most of the tours they do these days are pretty big. they were paying the bills with the band, and they definitely weren't eating ramen noodles.

Dillinger tours with a bus, its nothing new to him, new* bus might be nicer but its just obviously a decision made based on ethier A.Playing something he likes more or b. Money....which if B was ever true then he would not really be worth wasting money ever again on...
but as someone said, its his career. Good luck to him and all the fortune that comes his way, maybe he can move out of his parents house.

You're right. And I admire your passion. But if you've been in the same band for 10+ years, you might feel it's time to move on to something else.

Dude. The ramen noodles were a metaphor. I'm just saying that DEP is not a "career" band. "Paying the bills" is one thing, but it's not going to happen forever. There's no such thing as "job security" in their line of work. Especially when you're catering to such a selective audience.
