+1 to Greg Weeks for the bass on Prey for Eyes.

The first four were meh, but nothing bad, IMO.

Gunface told us on Saturday in Minneapolis that the scene kids probably wouldn't be too fond of this release.

The show was pretty kick ass all in all. Despised Icon are pretty nuts live and all really cool dudes. Through the Eyes of the Dead - bleh, but The Red Chord was awesome like always. Their new guitar player has a lot more presence on stage than Johnny Fay did.

I dig the new album.

Nun Stampede!

Not enough Fused Together in Revolving Doors IMO.

seriously, they dont need to make any more albums.

holyfuck
06-25-2007, 04:25 PM
from the lyrics I am hearing I think the concept behind this one is the psychology of criminality.

this is good... but just good. Kind of obvious? Clients 2 without the inspiration. But quality.

if so, i'm making a new one to declare how fucking badass this album is.

if you think it's boring, give it another chance.

if you still think it sucks and refuse to open-mindedly consider otherwise, shoot yourself in your faggot head.

seriously, the part that starts at 2:11 in the title track is fucking BRILLIANT.

more of my opinion to come.

Jotun
06-26-2007, 02:39 AM
Yeah, the title track is fucking awesome. I only listened to it once, and it wasn't disappointing but it wasn't super exciting either...just sounded to me like Clients˛. I'll definitely spin that shit again after I get over how awesome the Silent Hill 2 & 3 soundtracks are, haha.

haha whoops, i don't know why i didn't see this. i looked hard. :(

here are some more thoughts:

it's even more technical and brutal than clients, i'd say it's the most death metal material they've ever written. lots of weird, complex riffing and awesome groovy parts. cool sense of melody too in the chords and stuff, some riffs even have a black metal'ish vibe to them.

i must emphasize that the drumming is fucking AWESOME. brad was solid on clients but he's nearly flawless on this, and his style shines through more on this one (since they probably wrote songs with him).

I don't know where this came from... it's a total change from Clients and polar opposite of Fused Together. Good song titles, average vocals but I like the drumming and always have.
6/10 so far...,

as everyones been saying, I've been describing this as clients excepts more technical with better flow as a whole album, I think these songs are solid as fuck.

This cd is going to be on rotation for a long while, because clients was everyday for months for me

Man, how can you like clients and not this CD?

I listened to it for the first time today, delivering my pizzas, and was pleasently surprised, when I was expecting it to sound like clients. To me, it didn't, maybe the production, but it had much more variety and more bad ass parts. I love this cd already.

im getting the new one right now. i loved clients, i liked it way more than fused together in revolving doors. imo just a better groove and better song structure on clients. more thoughts to come on the new cd (when it finishes).

Durchfall
07-01-2007, 12:27 AM
ok i've come to the conclusion after listening to the first track and a quarter of the second track that this is the best red chord cd. anyone who disagrees with me your a fucking idiot cause if you liked clients you should like this even more. its not as crazy as clients which imo is cooler and like others have said they groove more. and the breakdowns are really sweet and unique too.

Fused Together In Revolving Doors > *

Fused is TRC's sound...I'm not saying Clients or Prey For Eyes are bad albums, but they reek of MetalBladeism far more than Fused does.

truth.

their sound was so dark and creepy back then, and it contributed a lot to the heaviness of their songs. that was definitely what made me fall in love with them in the first place. i love this new album but i will always miss that aspect of their sound. :(
