I'm so bummed I wasn't into Meshuggah when Tool toured with em...I so would have gone to that show.

awesome, i'm jealous. i've still never seen them live, even though they're one of my favorite bands and pretty much got me into heavy music.

melt banana is opening for them.. i saw them live on an off-date from the tool tour and they were fucking incredible. the new album is great, whoever is drumming for them now is a beast.

saw em in greenville on the 8th, and then bonnarroo on the 14th. The setlist was pretty much the same, except the actually played all of Flood, played The Pot, and added Ænema at the end as an encore.
Oh, and Tom Morello played with them. =)

i got to see them with meshuggah. it was when i was 12 or something (my stepdad got me Ænima when i was 10, so i had been a fan already for awhile..) and i had no idea what i was seeing at the time and totally disreguarded what now is one of my favorite bands. the moments i can actually remember of meshuggah's set i was just completely unaware of what the fuck was going on. besides my unfortunate nile mishap... that show was really the first time i was exposed to "metal."

Yeah, in 2002 I think...maybe 2001, but I think it was 02.

Yeah I just missed Meshuggah the first time I saw Tool. The 2nd time Isis opened. AMAZING.

So overall the show was awesome, everything i expected it to be. It was a little short, and I was bummed they didn't play an encore, cause i was hoping to hear some more old stuff, they didnt play anything prior to aenima. Everything sounded great,
highlights were Jambi (talkbox solo was awesome), 46 & 2, lost keys/rosetta stoned, and lateralus still remains my favorite tool song, live it was incredible.

setlist was:

Jambi
Stinkfist
The Pot
46 & 2
Schism
Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned
Intension/Right in Two
Wings for Marie/10,000 days
Lateralus (with melt banana guitarist)
Vicarious

I really enjoyed melt banana too, although a bunch of my friends fucking hated them, but I guess that's cause I have more of an eclectic taste cause they were really fucking noisy, and their last song was basically just like swirling feedback.

nope, I was pissed, they didn't even play an encore despite an extremely responsive crowd.
