View Full Version : New official website launched
Just letting everyone know that www.alchemist.com.au has been relaunched with a new design and loads of new content including videos 'First Contact' and 'Solarburn'. Check it out! Any comments on the site?
Hi there, Roy(?)!
I just discovered your new web site and what shall I tell you: I'm un love with your work! Thank you so much for all the work you put into this. It really was worth the wait!
Actually I'm supposed to write my diploma paper (I'll have to hand it in next week ...) but then I checked your URL ... and became a little, uh, diverted. ;)
Anyway, keep up your great work, mate!
See ya' soon,
Mick

yay! so long overdue! looks fuckin great!
Yesterday I downloaded the two videos and watched them at home: They're gorgeous - great work!!!
Thank you so much for offering them for download! At my university I cannot watch any media files because of uninstalled plugins and at home I only have a slow dial-up modem low-bandwidth connection to the Internet, so this was perfect for me! What would I do without my USB-stick?! ;)
Anyway, are you still planning to release a DVD in the foreseeable future? I'd love to see your other video clips as well!
hey there Roy!
Nice job. Clean and functional whilst maintaining the Alcheschmutz bent. thanks for keeping the tathra cow mutilations up and running!! On the very page that harbours this piece of work from 'Madman' (I'm not the one sporting the bolt-thrower duds) Butz there is a typo. Weird and fuuny - archives- Tathra. will keep an eye out for others but in the meantime keep a tight head!

@AceMan: As far as I know there are videos of "Road to Ubar" (The band hates this one. I don't know why because`'ve never seen it.), "Eve of the War", and "Yoni Kunda". "Alpha Cappella Nova Vega" and "Speed of Life" are either still in the making or brand-new. I hope that DVD-project isn't scraped ...!
@butz: I love "The Tathra Cow Mutilations"! This is the funniest Flash-movie I've ever seen! Alos, it was quite an adventure until I finally managed to download it becuase it was the first time I came in touch with this type of files.
hey Mick,
thanx from the other side of this fragile globe we call home. great to see your comments. Much appreciated. Wait to you see these guys play. I am lucky to live in the frosty australian capital and always drop in to see Alchemist twist and shake. they certainly know how to put on a top notch showcase of psychedelic (sic) metal mayhem. Wish i had the means to get over there to prog Power and thrash on down with your bad self.
BUTZ
Hey Butz, good evening over there! ;) How's winter's arrival treating you?!
I envy you for having seen them live so many times! I'd love to see them play a home gig somewhen, too.
I'll be so in October excited that I probably will have to take a plastic bag with me in order to keep me from hyperventilating and fainting during the concert ... ;)
Winter frost and artic winds blowing off the Brindies, a mountain range that surrounds Canberra, also a good place to find the magic fungus that Alchemist put in their belly warming and mind contorting soup of the day.
Mick, I am entrusting you with the high duty of starting circle moshes during Alche-classics such as Chinese Whispers and Alpha Cappella..
Don't hyperventilate so much that you inhale that plastic bag of yours but if you faint make sure that your failing body gets passed along the crowd in righteous surfing mode.

So the story in the "Mad Cow"-video is really true?!
By the way was this video done in commission for Alchemist or did you do it on your own and the band lkiked it so much that they put it up at their web site?

I'll try not to disappoint you, mate! Thanx a lot for your trust. I didn't know circle pits were the way in Australia. They're not that popular here in Germoney so I can't promise you that particular detail. ;)

Yeah, I love crowd surfing! Is it popular in Oz as well? And how do security guys there like it?!
I had a bit of a break between jobs and Roy had suggested that he had ample space on the website if i wanted to contribute. As you can see things got a little out of hand but the alcheschmutz lads liked it so up it went.
the idea came from a trip to the south coast village of Tathra where Alchemist were doing a show and some mates of mine were supporting with their stylings of Kyuss material. tathra is part of the dairy area of NSW and there a fuckin cows everywhere. With Alchemists' use of alien imagery and subject matter the two scenarios gelled together easily with cow mutilations being linked to alien visitations as you well know.
the circle mosh is undeniable when you hear Alchemist live at 500 decibels. Security shouldn't be at metal gigs cos they get frightened and can't understand that people mosh out fustrations and that havin a skank isn't some violent contortion. yes they need an education but generally the crowds in Australia are well behaved unless limp Bizcuit are in town and then all punters rush the stage for a chance to take a bite out of Fred Durst- the prat.
i see from your closer that you may enjoy a bit of the ole napalm death. i really enjoy the DVD. High pitched screams from barney and Mick are hilarious.
Rock on brother,

That's cool! Are you a friend of Roy's or "just another fan" like me?

And they were right about it!
Hey, where does the term "alcheschmutz" come from? This is pretty funny to me because "Schmutz" is the German translation of "dirt".

Yeah, that was a pretty creative thing to do!

Well, unlike me you're the one who's experienced in seeing Alchemist live. So I'll just have to see what happens.

I'll side with Bon Scott on this one: "Fuck the security down there! They ain't rock'n'Roll."
But what's "skank"?

Yeah, I heard about that one.
I like the term "punter", though. It sounds way cool.

You're absolutely right: I've been following N.D. for more than 10 years now. They were one fo the first bands I liked after listening exclusively to AC/DC for years. I don't know their DVDs, though.
Apart from Alchemist I enjoy Voivod (but didn't particularly like their last album), Holy Moses, Haemorrhage, Nile, Nasum, Coroner, Pestilence, Sacred Reich, Anacrusis, Carnivore, S.O.D., Pungent Stench, Disharmonic Orchestra, Die Skeptiker, Feeling B, Manos, Disaster K.F.W., Les Tambours du Bronx, ... mostly old school-stuff, now that I think about it.
The last show I went to was Yamato, though. They were awesome. Check them out at www.wadaiko-yamato.com/english/e-main-frame.htm !
And you like Celtic Frost, don't you? What do you think of their new preview track?
