I'm only interested in technical and fast stuff, not necessarily like Behold...The acrtopus but still marked in the same genre.

Tera Melos

and Hella. They used to be instrumental. Get Hold Your Horse Is by them if you do get it.

well some of these might not be fast or technical enough and you sort of limit the options when you make it strictly instrumental... there are so many bands out there that feel like vocals are needed to make a band complete.. But ill give it a try.... also im not going to argue bullshit over whether a band is or is not technical..

obviously theres orthrelm like previously mentioned..

canvas solaris is beautiful music and very technical but widely influenced/varied as well..

Continuo Renacer is good and have some tech moments and theyre strong in polyryhthms but theyre a little more like prog.

Dysrhythmia is amazing but if your a fan of Behold then chances are you knew about them already... and they arent very fast for the most part...

Electro Quarterstaff is awesome. Not really in the vain of behold and not anywhere near as tech but a great instrumental band and it has triple harmonized guitars

Gordian Knot is one of the most phenomonal instrumental bands ever! I had to throw them in, they arent very tech and not very fast but absolutely beautiful music!

Ron Jarzombek in his solo work is amazing and very technical. He plays for Spastic Ink too but theres a vocalist in that. If you listen to his stuff in "PHHHP!" or "Solitarily Speaking of Theoret" you'll see some great technical instrumentals. But its not that much in the way of behold.

Sleep Terror obviously but everyone knows them, and they just added a vocalist. Very technical and fast but not very much like behold again. Still worth a listen though.

Trey Gunn, again I name an artist who is not fast in any way and not obviously technical so I realize the originator of this thread wont like him but as far as polyrhythms go he is quite technical and some of the best instrumental stuff around. He also plays a warr guitar like Colin

Zach Hill and Mick Barr are a good choice if you like orthrelm. Very fast, technical music but very chaotic. If you like orthrelm you would probably like them.

So not all of those fit the fast technical criteria but most of them are close and are amazing instrumental stuff. And like I said, you limit your field when you stick with only instrumental stuff. I love it as much as the next guy but you'll end up missing out on great bands like Exit the King just because theres vocals.
