Do you have an artist in you? Do you know someone who is or have a talent for design?

Green Carnation has become known with its fans to change music, style, approach - and logo, for each album released. Making the cover, logo and design to fit each release and music, has become a trade mark for Green Carnation.

For the soon-to-be recorded album, Green Carnation is now announcing a small competition were you can win a signed DVD as well as a beautiful signed vinyl box containing all three albums by the band on heavy vinyl and gatefolded sleeve - a very limited release!!!

What you have to do - is to draw or make on your computer - a logo for Green Carnation or a symbol that can be used to identify Green Carnation on the upcoming release and perhaps further beyond.

Green Carnation claim the right to pick out a winner that we feel contribute with the winning formula - not necessary the best drawed logo or most fancy symbol, but the one of the two, that we feel will represent Green Carnation and what its about, in the best way. GC also claim the right to not announce a "winner", if the contributions doesnt fit with this profile.

The winner, if one is appointed, will also need to sign an agreement that leave the rights of use and exploitation over to Green Carnation.

This competition is meant to be a gesture towards our fans, and with the possibility to include them on the new album!

Contributions can be emailed to

tchort@online.no

Deadline would have to be end of August, because of the deadline we have to send artwork to print.

Get going.... and good luck :)

Quite a few people have emailed me the last couple of days asking what kind of symbol i mean: i will leave that up to you guys to decide, but to give you an idea:

Sepultura is recknognized by the S symbol
Emperor is recknognized by the E symbol
Opeth by the O symbol
John Holmes by a big penis
etc.

something to identify the band from. Not necessarily a letter but a icon that people eventually will assosiate with Green Carnation.

So, back to the drawing boards!

You`ll get the inspiration you need from our 3 albums, i mean, its not like this new one is gonna be totally different from what Green Carnation was in the past. Besides, thats how it works - artwork is delivered for printing at the same time as the master tape is sent for pressing - not time to share new music ;)

Can we enter multiple times if we have more than one idea?

I can't think of a "single-letter" sort of thing without thinking of the Good Charlotte logo...

But give me some time...I'm gonna make a good one...

Some more questions:

Would you guys actually want a carnation, as in the flower, on there?

Would the logo have to be the final, professional version, or if I had a really good concept for one and didnt draw it perfectly that you guys could touch up...could i win that way?

Good Charlotte is a shitty pop-punk band from the USA. Their logo looks like this... http://www.tshirtsville.com/acatalog/good-charlotte_logo.gif

I think it's pretty lame...but that's what i keep thinking of when you said the thing about the Opeth "O".

Oh and by the way...I think I should win because I asked you the question about the logo in the "two more questions for the band" thread...which of course gave you the idea, right? Haha...I just want that signed LOD,DOD! I must win.
