Disavowed Tour Report week 1

WASSUP!!!

We have done 6 shows so far and they were absolutely killer! The venues are exellent and the turnout is fabulous!
We switch the openingspot with Urkraft everyday, so that is cool!
Everyday people are moshpitting like crazy and I personally enter the crowd to kick people's asses and do some stagediving-stuff (the flying Dutchman)! Romain is flying like crazy and Gerben and Daniel wobble their strings like violin players! And Nils: he is farting his ass off and yes: kicking ass on his bass! Ha Ha!
Seriously: it's awesome on tour! We have driven 6000 km so far in 7 days and we are ready to perform in Italy tonight!

I've seen Disavowed yesterday in Bologna (Italy), they were absolutely great!
One of the best death metal live performances I had the chance to see i
in the last years.. you guyz are fucking badass, tight sound, ultratechnical skills, but still fucking brutal.
The new cd will blow away the old one for sure

I'm waiting the Cd form neurotic... hope to get it very soon.

it'll be a bit harsh if us peeps that pre-ordered the album last year get demoted to people turning up at the gigs & getting the preferrential treatment when not everyone who wants the album can get to the gigs.


i'm still having trouble believin there's any deliberate malice in it just yet though till we hear back from Ruud or the band themselves cause we all well know how bullshit rumours perpetuate on the net so easily.

Surt as you may know , Merch is the life of a Band and it's the most important thing while you're in Tour. It's pretty obvious that they printed out some copies for the tour , New Cds --> more buyers --> more money for the gasoline etc.etc.etc.

yes, but you're kind of forgetting the fact that people who actually have the drive and fanaticism for the band have been sat on their hands for the last three months waiting for this album, only to find that people have been able to just casually walk into the show and pick up a copy of the album without a moments glance.

This all has the potential to sound like I'm attack Neurotic or Disavowed which I'm not in the slightest as I can thoroughly understand the motives why, if at all, they've done it. Doesn't change the fact that it's still harsh as fuck for all us people out here who can't get to see a show on the tour and who've been dilligently waiting here for the album to come.

What would you say if someone who bought the album on the tour put it on p2p and half the people cancelled their pre-orders?

That would really fuck the band over in an even worse way.


SUMMARY:
I'm not saying this as a disillusioned fan. Nothing of the sort. I love Disavowed and I'll be a Disavowed fan for long into the future and I think they're all - least the ones i've met - fucking sound fellas.
I'm saying this from the objective point of view of being a paying fan that puts as much of his money into buying CDs/ merch and going to as many gigs as I can, which gives me the viewpoint of seeing something like this as yes potentially exposign them to new fans (emphasis on 'potentially') but it can just as easily be taken as being two fingers up to people like me who have no other option but to wait for their packages to arrive on the doorstep or just not bother giving Neurotic or Disavowed any of their money and stealing the music from a p2p or torrent - something just to be clear I wouldn't do, but others well might.

That's why I'm sceptical about whether or not this is takin place as it seems completely out of leftfield - especially after all the considerably publicised (least on messageboards) trouble with previous Neurotic mailorders regardless of not being a fault of Ruud - and out of character really.


I'm all for people being introduced to a band and getting them latched into the new band by the obvious merch sales, but what happened to the days when bands couldn't sell the album on the tour because it hadn't come out yet or for some other reason... did you hear of them bringing out special copies of the album specifically just for any potential newcomers to the band stiffing over their already existing fanbase?

I'm rambling now anyway, and that wasn't much of a summary.

I love Disavowed. I will always support them. I think it's harsh if newcomers to the band get precedence over people who have already forked out money to support the band.

You didn't see Visceral Bleeding magically manage to get copies of their album ready for new people to the band for their tour with Deicide earlier in the year; and that's forgetting the fact the VB album was supposed to have come out before the Disavowed one.


I'm trying desperately not to judge before I know 100% of the facts, and I know I'm pretty much letting myself in for a bit of abuse for seemingly abandoning my fan-ship of the band (which I'm not, not even 1 iota), I'm just being drawn into elaborating on my initial thoughts.

Goddanmn it!!!I was at Belgrade show last week,and I'm still amazed by the brutality you guys showed!!!That was some real serious shit,man!!!
I actually tried to stay wih the band,but like it always goes in my former and present country, i can't 'cos people with the conections only can.I spoked with the singer, bass player and one guitarist, and i realized that you are best fucking people in the death scene.

I'm actually ashamed that i never heard of you before,i believed that i know all the bands from unique leader,but it seems that BEST BAND sliped from my attention!!!

So,all respect and support from the Montenegian Death Fans!!!

I hope to see you on stage very soon, 'cos you belong there!!!
