I'am new to Disgorge , I discovered them recently with a couple of mp3's.And I like the stuf very much.So I was planning to go to the local metal shop and see if the guy there couldn't order a Disgorge cd for me.But wich one to you think is the best one of their discography or the one I should start with? (I was thinking of "Shy Lay Gutted" or "Parallels Of Infinite Torture".)

Either Consume The Forsaken or Parallels Of Infinite Torture. I know for me, Parallels helped me get into Consume, so maybe Parallels first.

Yeah I won't argue with that, though I do believe Aj's vocals performance is both the most welcoming and the best overall.

No doubt at all. But it's not the easiest album to initally get into.
I know for me, I bought Consume The Forsaken on the recommendation of others about 6 months before Parallels came out. I remember when I first heard it it seemed pretty good but a bit monotonous and a complete blastfest. Then when Parallels came out, again I thought it was a little bit the same but there were more riffs that kept me wanting to listen to the songs again. Soon enough I was spurting gooey loads over Parallels after I'd actually been able to begin to comprehend what was going on in these songs. Then I went back to Consume and realised what lay beneath all the brutality that I couldn't initially understand properly. Also I found that the Consume The Forsaken videoclip helped me take more notice of the brilliance, I love that clip.
I remember making a Consume/Parallels playlist on my iPod and pretty much listening to just that every day for about 2-3 weeks. Definately one of the best listening experiences I've had in the metal genre. I listen to these two albums so often and have been for ages now, it just never gets boring to these ears.

Funny thing. CTF got me into POIT. Then I got the rest of the albums.
CTF is my fave album, as far as an album I love from start to finish, but Abhorrent Desecration of thee Iniquity is my fave song they've ever done, and that song is off POIT.
One thing I want to say about CTF- With it being the first Disgorge I ever heard, I found that the music was "over my head". I didn't get it at first. Like some other people on the board mentioned, it sounded like a bunch of repedative, speedy nonsense to me.
But the vocals sucked me into listening to it over and over and over, and after some time I got to know every riff, every squeal, every change....
I find now that it's beyond brutal, and, imo, one of the best Death Metal CDs ever released.
I would suggest starting with Consume the Forsaken. You can't go wrong with that CD.

What i usually do when i first get into a band is get their latest, then work my way back! With Disgorge i got into them when CTF first came out, then i got POIT then worked my way backwards!!

In my opinion She lay gutted is the most "accessible" Disgorge album. If you like it, you can go on from there.

I would love to play it on the drums, but Ricky is just too fucking fast for me.... Not a chance right now. But hopefully one day I can do it and post a video.

I'm hoping they continue with writing their new material and get around to recording a new Release THIS year! (2007) That would indeed rule. Not likely, but it would rule.

I'm told Ricky is in Texas concentrating on the Sarcolytic album.
Might be waiting a while for a new Disgorge album.
