Melbourne Plague Records - Its coming

In 2 mounths time i will have Melbourne Plague Records up and running. The label will not cater for any one genre but the emphasis will be dark, brutal grind, hardcore and death. I am thinking of doing a run of 7" for the first release.If anyone has a band or knows of one let me know.

Don't be a smart arse, it was/is a legitimate query. There's plenty of forums here with established labels, I'd be interested to know which ones started with a specific release they had planned from the go set vs ones which posted online stating "Hey, I've started a label. Anyone know any bands?".

Like i said, i have a few bands im talking to, ive been planing this for a while, maybe to long. Trust me, my pros and cons list gets bigger everyday but im making this my fulltime work so im going to go at it pretty hard...
Im just waiting for my site to be designed then it will take on more form.

Bands soughted. 2 from OZ and another 4 from brazil and canada. Would have expected more aussie bands but your all a bunch of shit cunts, ha ha.

Im sure most of the aussie bands are devoted to producing quality, not quantity, and most that I am aware of at the moment are already writing and recording this year already - I mean my new band and I'm sure a whole lot of others would love to do a split with GSR or someone but I'd want to do it justice... The fact that you have no label experience yet is also a source of concern for some I imagine, fuck. Chill out.

At first I thought it was a good idea you were so enthusiastic about 'supporting' this scene, especially considering at the moment it seems to be in a weird place. But theres no room for that sorta competitive bullshit attitude.

Maybe a better idea would have been to just chill out and show your support by actually going to some shows instead.

Not in the buisness sense but in general. My last post was spot on mate. The new label thing is bullshit, in the last 2 days i have had an huge response from bands everywhere except here. They ALL know its a new label and are more than happy to help someone else is flying the flag. My blunt response is ment to get people talking about this ( well here anyway ) and i really do want more aussie stuff. Either way, its going to shred !!!!

And all i see in the recent hauls thread is people buying 7", its a risky medium yes, but thats what i wanna do. And just because i created this ( for you guys to see ) does not mean i havnt had ideas and label plans for years, i mean really.
And as far as the whole medicore bands go, i cant really comment, not sure what to say to that.
