I was at Steves last week while going to a show at the Planetarium, which is a few blocks away. We got there late for the show and had to wait for the next one. And I decide to pass the time by going to steves music. So I get in there and ask for an 8 channel in 1 rack compressor, and the guy's showing me all these expensive ones. Finally I tell him I want a behringer model because I don't want to waste alot on it. So the guy tells me the price and I told him I saw it cheaper on the internet, and the guy freaks out at me.

What a douchebag. I bought like $1500 in the past couple years and the guy wigs out at me because I told him his price was higher than what I saw on the net. I'm never going back there. Screw that. I spent so much cash there and they freak out at me. I was being polite too.

I am going back to the planetarium next week though. They have awesome shows there. I've gone 3 times in the past month and a half and got one of the big telescopes in the gift shop from la maison de l'astronomie. Super stuff. The telescope works great too.

This is kind of off topic, but I don't have too much to say about neuraxis except that they're ok.

the guys at Steves in T.O. are pretty cool, sounds like theyre more laid-back then the dudes in Montreal. They sold me my 7 string, which was worth every dime i spent on it, and just so happens to be the nicest feeling guitar ive ever played. I've never had a problem with the service there.

In Montreal, I'd rather buy or rent my things at Centre Musical Ahuntsic. They're nicer people, they have good prices and they speak french.
And no, I'm not working for them or something :).

The sales people at steves speak french too. They're mostly bilingual like me. I never had problems speaking english or french to anybody there.

Language aside, they have a really bad attitude towards customers. That's what I can't stand about going there.

I used to work at Steve's back in 1996, they kicked me out because I asked them to get 2 days for the recording of "Imagery"...

Since, I don't go there often, I have few friends who works there but still, most of them are arrogant and careless. To gain their attention: just show them the bills and they will purr like kittens.
