I'm looking into acquiring a high quality, class A tube preamp. So far, I have been pretty interested in the Avalon AD 2022:

The Presonus ADL 600:

And the Groove Tubes SuPRE, which isn't out yet, but I hear is similiar to the GT ViPRE, but cheaper:

The avalon is super expensive, but I have heard that it is one of the best. The ADL 600 is cheaper but I have heard it is not quite as versatile as the Avalon. Has anyone used any of these, or have any advice they can give on preamps in general? Recommend other kinds of equipment? I'd like to know as much as possible before making such a big purchase on equipment that is so integral to the recording chain. Thanks.

Vintech 1272. Its a Neve made new. Avalon is good for vox not for guitars. Dont know about the others.

Cool, thanks. I'm going to use an Avalon (the 70??, I forget the model number) for vox...and for bass. Is that a good idea? I'll look into the Vintech.
