Nah, I'm not massively into grindcore. Misery Index are quite cool (they blew Nile off the stage when I saw em years ago) but I just wouldn't give Necrophagist any of my money. Bands like that need to be boycotted, not paid.

Jason Netherton seemingly still gets stick for having cut his hair short yet Misery Index still blaze IMO so haircuts have nothing to do with at all to be honest, for me at least.

The emo following makes a lot of sense for turning people of the band though, even if it is cutting your nose off to spite your face.

I just dislike Necophagist because of their Dream Theater-like need to put a load of pointless fretwanking into their songs instead of writing a good track.

they write some of the best death metal going in my opinion.. absolutely amazing song writing skills, and the solos aren't just thrown on for the sake of it! they are amazingly crafted passages... 'fermented offal discharge' has one of the best solos ever written at the end of it!

but of course, it's just a matter of opinion.

I know a lot people dislike band like Devourment because their simple but Necrophagist? thats some damns skilled musicianship right there! they do some great "melodic" music and still keep it brutal.
I rather hate on Misery Index. imo they are and have always been a weak clone of (newer) Dying Fetus. I don't say they are "gay" or whatever but I'm just not into them. I'm still looking forward to see them.

Newer Dying Fetus is about shite metalcore and more diarrhea inducing chuggy breakdowns than remotely necassary. Misery Index on the other hand actually don't sound half as generic boring and monotone as Dying Fetus - each of their releases are more distinctly recognisable from each other than Dying Fetus' have been - they actually write far better contemporary lyrics than anyone left in Dying Fetus, and generally make music that's far less tepid and stale than Dying Fetus/John Gallagher has been peddling for years now.
That's not even going into the comparison between the two live shows - Dying Fetus slowing things down to senile dementia levels of slowness whereas Misery Index never short of anything but blistering.

I'm getting sick of idiots comparing the two bands / calling them clones, simply because they shared a couple of members, especially when there's bands out there that have shared members and sound far more like carbon copies of each other.

Fair enough you don't like them, but to fall back on such a shit excuse as you think they're a clone of a band that they've shared members with is just ignorant.
Hell, i'd even say that it's beyond conjecture that the era of material with Netherton and/or Voyles are generally held up to be the best Dying Fetus material anyway, which you might purport to being evidence of them being a clone, i on the otherhand just hold it to be evidence of where the real talent lay.
