Abscess is great. No question about it. They're just a notch or two under Autopsy. And Tormented and Damned and Mummified are fucking great.

never seen anyone talk about autopsy before, one of my top 3 fave metal bands! (necrophagist and cryptopsy are the other two). reiferts vox and drumming are amazing.

i probably like acts of the unspeakable best, it's kind of very quirky, lots of interesting touches here and there. for all that i like tech death, i think something important is lost when you take tempos/blasts too far. autopsy get it just right, i reckon, and they were genius composers.

as for their best song, has to be bonesaw! best song ever written!

does anyone know, did reifert write the riffs? and has anyone got that dvd?

well,i have the the first 2 from ABSCESS,URINE JUNKIES and VAMPIRES AND MAGGOTS MEN but i prefer AUTOPSY,and i dont know why but a barely listen the cds from ABSCESS,i think i like more AUTOPSY cause the influence they had on me the first time i listen to them,and the best album is MENTAL FUNERAL.

You should check out the later Abscess stuff like Tormented and Damned and Mummified, they went back to their Autopsy roots on those, but made them more deranged sounding, I'm sure you'd dig.

and by the way,speaking of DERANGED,anyone here like this band??im looking to hear the new album,the last one was great,PLAINFIELD CEMETARY,one of the best albums of this band,on my opinion of course.

if you never heard of them you should check on listenable records,you can check some tracks on that album,i know they will be release their new album,if you like the pure an simple brutal death metal as my self,then you should check them out.
for my self, i can say is one of the bands that i really like,cause they played raw,filthy death metal and best of all,they play it simple and brutal.
i know some will dont like it,but what can you do?? jejeje
just like this forum,some like AUTOPSY and some like ABSCESS,but check them out and you can tell me later your opinion.
