I'm 30 euros poorer, haha! Love it!
Promise you'll put lots of drum footage on the cd-rom extra. Romain has teased us on Derek's forum about having some nice footage, but he won't put it out there before the album's out, haha. So please, lots of studio footage as extra on the cd, not just the drums either, just a lot of studio footage!

I love it!
Wow this song is great. It gets better with each listen.
I take it the new songs which were on the live videos that were on the Disavowed site will be on the new album as some of the riffs in those songs were awesome.

Yes!! In fact "Biased Existence" was on those video's too! It was called "Tatort" and it is funny to see the progression in the song, during the years!

We play it halfway in the video!

*big long rambling set of paragraphs taken away and replaced by...*
a quick question... was it intentional for the production to sound so similar to that of the Arsebreed album, Mr Kok?
I mean no disrespect by asking that, it's just at times it sounds almost like an Arsebreed song because of the guitar patterns coupled with the slightly hollow production sound (as opposed to the previously meaty 'Perceptive Deception' one).
Like I say, I mean no offence by mentioning this... I just thought i'd mention it in an attempt to try and pre-empt the haters from calling it Arsebreed Mk II. Thought I'd find out from the man himself so I've got an answer for them.
I'm still very much looking forward to the album and I'm not going to judge the whole thing based on the relatively low quality an mp3 is in compared to CD audio.

Ha surt, yeah, I get your point! Especially due to the guitarsound it's somewhat similar. And of course robbe's vocals are alike. However there are mayor differences, the drums are much more balanced, the bass is way different and audible etc. etc...........you better get that cd asap!!!! hahaha
Also this song (biased existence) is written by Daan, so some extra arsebreed influences..... From the 10 songs on the cd 4 are from Daan and 6 are from me. Altogether there are songs that are alike the songs on perceptive, songs that have more strange structures and weird riffs as in Arsbreed and also some stuff that we never done before......

HEE Surt!
Yeah: Sombody mentioned it on the Neurotic Forum as well!
No it is not intentionally! In fact we tried to make it sound as different as possible, but:
Arsebreed and Disavowed use the same guitarprocessors (with different sound), so maybe that is what you here? I think this production sounds fuller and thicker than the previous productions and more real! What to you think of the overall sound quality, compared to "Perceptive Deception"?
What is important: Arsebreed and Disavowed write different songs! We had the same thing with Pyaemia, back in the days: people though we sounded similar too!
Greetz,
Robbe

Ha Ha! When I was replying, I didn't see your reply, G! Ha Ha! I guess we replied almost at the same time!
safe guys.
I was trying to avoid labelling it as being Arsebreed in Disavowed's clothing 'cause well, that'd be fucking dumb.
Like I said I'm reserving judgement till the full thing eats my ears alive then spits in the hole.
Just getting a bit protective I guess because I've already experienced some people slagging off Arsebreed and Disavowed seperately - as well as that "Pyaemia and Disavowed are pretty much the same band" rubbish (at the same time as even having to stand by as someone was slagging Disavowed off to Joey for some reason), so I was kind of anticipating that escalating and having visions of myself going on a (cue '50s B-Movie voiceover) "murderous bloody rampage".
What is important: Arsebreed and Disavowed write different songs! We had the same thing with Pyaemia, back in the days: people though we sounded similar too!
Yeah, I can tell that actually, with both examples. I think some closet haters just like to try and use the "they sound like 'x' band" as a detrimental thing rather than actually seeing just how much of a carbon copy the two bands are.
I mean to my ears, the only way that Cerebral Cereal and Perceptive Deception sound similar is that they both have the same vague "Dutch" vibe. Other than that they're no more identical than say Putrefied and Severe Torture.
gah. Hurry up and unleash 'Stagnated...' so I can just wave it at them with my middle finger up :D

Nice !!
thank you all !
I see what you mean about Arsebreed/Disavowed, although I don't totally agree ...
And specially because I first joined Arsebreed after the release, then some months later Disavowed.
I can tell you , the first time I heard "Biased Existence" (demo track), even if I could recognised a bit the Daan's influences, there was almost no link between the two bands for me.
Then hearing all the new Disavowed demos songs, I thought exactly the same.
Now , I m not really objective anymore hahahaha ! but I still believe to my first reaction...
well this is just my personal feeling.
but , if many guys think the same, I guess they might be right ... in a way :emot-drun

Hey Robbe any chance you can post the lyrics for Biased Existence. I've always enjoyed the lyrics from Disavowed and wouldn't mind reading along to this song.

BIASED EXISTENCE
Why can't you see?
This truth is only yours
Subjective, your truth, a biased existence
Our mutual reality
has been defined
by a certain set of core beliefs
Biased Existence
The unwritten rules and values
contain the conceptions
of all in our society
This is your biased existence
Your existence is biased
The beliefs you grow up with:
a biased reference of experience
One need to expand
as many borders as possible
in order to evolve
to ones highest potential
This is your biased existence!
Thanx for your interest, bro!!!
Robbe
Cheers for posting the lyrics Robbe. Much appreciated :beerchug:

No problem, bro! It is going to be a bit of a puzzle, to check out which part I sing at what place! I like to repeat stuff and sing it in a complete different way... :hbang32en
Haha yeah, especially at 2:10 during the breakdown I was like "what the fuck it's missing a verse" but I managed to see you were just repeating a part. The vocals are great overall. Fucking loving this track, it's had some insane repeats over the past couple of days.

Ha Ha! Thanx!
I prefer to make compact lyrics, instead of heaps of lyrics! It's not that I am lazy! In fact I am a perfectionist and I am always searching for the most compact version...
i think the only thing that makes me think of Arsebreed other than the crystal clear production sound (i'm a layman so feel free to correct me on that), is the occasional Arsebreed-y guitar bit... hard to explain really as I'm not a musician.
It's still Disavowed I know, and I can hear that myself, just this song has a noticeable dollop of Arsebreeding in it (only about Dis85:15Ars). Like I said, I'm not writing the song off or dismissing it at all.
I was just curious if the production was meant to sound so similar to 'Munching The Rotten'.
God i feel sort of guilty now for mentioning that whole ArsebreedVSDisavowed thing now... :eck: heh

It's OK! No problem! From a production point of view, the similarities mainly have to do with the guitarsound! The recording in itself was completely different than for Arsebleed!

Serious: These discussions are good: That's why we have a forum, to discuss stuff and to get exposure! I think for the final master, I will put loads of reverb and twisted effects on top of the guitars, to make it sound at least different from Arsbleed (hehe)
See ya, hopefully in the UK soon!

Great the new song guyz
It 's fucking brutal
hah. no need to change it just to make it sound more different to Arsebreed.
Like Gerben(?) said, there's probably only those similarities there because of a few minor guitar bits...
See ya, hopefully in the UK soon!
you better had do and all ya big baldy! :D
