I thought it was shit. Really boring and trendy sounding. Gorguts were a million times better than Negativa. Massively dissapointed.

Dunno where you're from, but here funny rhythms and dischords are all the rage with the fringe kids. I like death metal with riffs, rather than a load of spazzed out time signatures and funny techniques - hence why the first two Gorguts albums are my favourite ones. I do like Obscura don't get me wrong, but the first two are definetly the best. This new stuff is pushing Obscura too far for me and sounds like experimentation for experimentations sake.

dude dont call gorguts trendy because of bands like dillinger escape plan and other hardcore noist acts. gorguts wrote the book on crazy discordant death metal with their "obscura album" which was WRITTEN in 1994.

1994 not 2003 or something. they arent trendy at all.

And if lots of people like it, so what? Just because something is "trendy" doesn't make it any less valueable if there is actually something interesting going on in the music. Jesus christ, some metalheads are just as bad as fucking emo or indie kids.
