here you can use either shotgun or bow for spring season for turkey, but only bow in the fall hunt (like ill follow that rule). deer has the season divided in the fall, the first week is usually muzzleloader and the second is bow. different states have different laws though, one may have 2 seperate dates for turkey bow hunting or may have certain restrictions that other states dont have.

yeah it is messed up mudvayne. some states get more than 6 weeks, i think there are some places out west that get up to two months. and i dont think the longer season correlates to have a larger bird population, because KY was ranked in the 10 ten turkey states as far as number of birds goes, but SC (who wasnt even ranked) got a season twice as long as ours


the only reason it pisses me off is because im up here going to school and cant make a 3 hour drive to my hometown where i hunt everyday. id like to though. im skipping outta class for the rest of the week tomorrow to get my ass home in time to do some socuting before the sun sets.

a 25 lb turkey is a big one for a wild turkey. genetics make it a lot more possible for a farm turkey. my buddy killed a 22 lb bird this weekend with 1 and a quarter spurs (real good size) but only a 3 inch beard. usually a bird that big has a 10+ inch beard, but some birds here in KY caught something called beard rot last year and made a lot of their beards fall off.
