my wonderful morning yesterday:
woke up to a huge wind storm. turn on the news to see a huge tornado killed some people down in kentucy, not far from where my mom is visiting family right now. everyone's fine though. turn to some sports, after a few minutes I see the lights kinda fade and the cable goes out. walk outside to see a fucking tree fell on my power line. no not the city line, just my line from the pole to my house. the kicker is the power's still on, so now I have a live power line in my yard. YAY. call the power company, they come fix the line quickly no problem. but they find that when the tree ripped the line down, it ripped the meter and breaker off of the house. that part's my property, so the city wont fix it. and since it's sunday, NOONE can fix it, cant find one single contractor that has the parts to fix it. so now the power's been out for a day, hopefully the food in my chest freezer didnt thaw yet, and i'm having to leave work to go pay an electrical contractor about a grand to fix my damned box. THEN i have to wait for the city again to turn the power on. THEN I have to do the same shit with the cable company, and then still have to deal with the insurance company to try and get some money back.
