Sorta, but I think Fuck the Commerce still has a bit more respect than Milwaukee, even though I've heard nothing but bad things about FTC this past year. The FTC billings have certainly been on a decline in the last few years, that's for sure.

Yeah, just watch they will most likely cancel in March as well and change the date yet again. Last year it got cancelled like 3 different times I think. Last time I went was like 2 or 3 years ago now. I used to go there all the time but not anymore cause they keep cancelling and besides the promoter, Jack Koshick screws over bands left and right and doesn't pay them from what I have heard. There's other fests in America now that are better than the once great Milwaukee Metal Fest.

What's dudes name, Jack Koshick? His fests are fucking terrible. You have to sit through so many god awful bands that paid to play before you get to see even a halfway decent band.

Does he still do the March Metal Meltdown in NJ anymore? I went to that one in 2002 and soundwise and organizationwise it was pretty bad. Although as a social event it was a lot of fun. And speaking of this fest, I remember reading the stories about when it was at the Convention Center in Pennsauken, NJ where Koshick had two stages in one auditorium separated by a curtain. There were bands playing on each stage at the same time as well. I believe this was also the show where Sentenced flew over here solely for this show and ended up only getting a 17 minute headlining set.

The only thing gayer than having a show in Milwaukee would be having it in NJ.

No, he doesn't do it any more. I'm thankful I didn't go to that one with the curtain in the middle.
I went to a few of the NJ ones. Terrirlbe sound, bands, organization like you said.

I went to that one and yes they did have a curtain seperating the two stages. That had to be the worst ideas in the history of metal fest's. The sound was bad to begin with and that made it worse. Also Sentenced did come over and play 17 minute set.
I have not gone to a Milwakee Metal Fest since 2000 and that is also the last Koshick fest I went to.

And it would still be better than doing anything in that steaming pile of shit NYC.

This promoter doesnt seem to know how to do shows by the sounds of it. And to not have any bands booked and then to postpone it is a complete Joke.

i went to milwaukee '00, '01, and '02...each year it got weaker...there were lots of drunk/crackhead crust punks there as well starting shit...you have 100+ bands and less than 3000 people show up, that's gotta tell you something...then bands like Anoxia from Rhode Island had to buy XX amount of tickets just to play at 3:00 in the afternoon to 30-50 ppl, fuck that...i did get to meet king kong bundy, even though he smelled like bologna
the best fest times i've had so far: OH Deathfest '01 and '02

MDF III was definitely the best fest I've been to, but I haven't been to a lot of fests because we don't really get them up here.
