Death Metal bands that became gay...

Some death metal bands, especially when changing lead singers it seems, come back with an extremely gay album and continue to suck from there on out. Bands that really disapppointed are:

Internal Bleeding (initially one of the best new brutal bands)
Cryptopsy (who hasn't cried for Lord Worm when listening to NSV or ATYB :-(
Skinless (they can never top Progression Toward Evil)

Do any bands change (esp. lead singers) for the good of brutality?!?

agreed both albums fuckin slay and as far as cryptopsy go wasent once was not the return of lord worm i could be wrong but i was under that impression

You're most definitely correct. I will admit that their new album took a few spins to grow on me but it's just as original as all their other recordings. People need to stop expecting them to rewrite None So Vile.

Skinless was REALLY fucking good at MDF and the new album is fucking good too. I was very skeptical of seeing them because sherwood was such a good front man, but that new singer is just as good.

that new Skinless is amazing. that's also some serious huge shoes to fill Sherwood but the current vocalist fills it quite nicely. Lord Worm sucks on OWN and also the whole band too, no wonder why Daniel Mongrain and John Levaseur left that band.

Yeah, new Cryptopsy was much better than previous efforts because of lord Worm's return. Exactly my point.

And Skinnless fans or supporters, go and put in their CD "Progression Toward Evil" (if any of you have been listening to metal long enough to own it) and immediately after listen to any of their newer stuff and you will see what crap there latest material is.

Progression...is one of my favorite death metal albums ever BTW.

And one last example, is the once mighty ABORTED. "The Purity of Perversion" was absolutely genius, a true death metal masterpiece. The follow-up split with Christ Denied was equally as catchy but brutal. Everything else (after getting signed to a label) is pretty standard, boring, cookie cutter, death metal by numbers.

Aborted have become like nu-death metal. some of its alright but pretty boring. the breakdowns on the new one rival Unearth for shittiest ones ever. fuck that stop and go bullshit

I was just listening to some old shit and have yet another example, although I definately can't go as far as to call them gay...but Deranged really killed on High on Blood and after that album they lost their lead singer and the vocals suck from then on...only monotonous ongoing grunts, no pitch variations, high pitched screams and what not. "High on Blood" is a total death metal classic BTW.

i dont mind the new aborted album personally i dont listen to it often i mostly listen to the purity of perversion and goremaggedon by them but the new shit still isent terrible
