Cover Songs

So incase some of you don't know we are huge music fans and want to "remember our roots"

We have been talking about learning a few cover songs and maybe throwing out something hidden on the new disc.

Here is a couple that we were thinkin of toying around with. Let me know what you would most like to hear as we wanna do this for us but obviously it would be cool if you fuckers dug it as well.

Cryptopsy- Crown of Horns
Carcass- Inprobagation
Immolation- No Jesus, No Beast

we are kinda thinkin the immo song the least because of our one guitar player situation and we want to be able to play this shit out some time too. And we are all huge Suffo fans but we think that shit is being over done now so we don't wanna jump on that band wagon- so of these songs what would you most like to hear??

Carcass - because that song is awesome and they are also an oft neglected band, probably because they ended up being remembered for their gay rot and roll shit.

There are too many bands trying to rip off Cryptopsy, if not doing covers. But that style is covered.

Also, Orphan's of Sickness by Gorguts I think would compliment your style. Just a thought.

I'd say cover a Deeds Of Flesh tune because they sound like a huge influence on you guys. But that would be kind of boring compared to the other 3 you've mentioned.

Yeah Deeds would be a good choice but we wanted to do something a little older. Also I think that with Carcass or Cryptopsy that people would instantly know what it is and go off.

fuck yeah man that cd is fuckin HEAVY as shit!!! i love it. i never hear bands cover napalm death song's so i think it would be sick if you guys did it...hopefully it does happen.

Me and Tony were talking about wanting to do a Napalm song but we couldn't get Scott on board. I know a million bands have covered Scum but we wanted to do something like World Keeps Turning or somethin around that era. I guess Scott never got into Napalm so we just kinda dropped the idea.

Back in the day when we did play a few covers we were talking about playing The Philosopher, but that never ended up happening. The only covers we ever played were Hammer Smashed Face (Cannibal Corpse), Once Upon The Cross (Deicide), and Embodiment (Carcass). But this was a long time ago, prior to releasing Dissecting The Angels. Our very first show consisted of 4 originals and Hammer Smashed Face. We did covers back then because we didn't have enough material to play a set. We did play Hammer Smashed Face a few times after Dissecting was out as it really got the crowd going.

With my band, we use to cover Catatonia from Suffo. But as everyband cover it now (see Despondancy, Unmerciful), we decided to make another cover..
I don't think you have to cover really odl band. Finally, Brutal Death has almost 15 years...
So we make a Disavowed cover, and we're working on Disgorge's Atonement one :)

Take a cover of one the band that has the most influenced you OR make a cover and reapropriate the song: modernize it and make it sound like a Incinerate one...

I dunno i'm torn- on one hand it's fun to make a song a little more modern or how you would like to play it but I really love doin stuff that is different from what you normally do- it allows you to do something different for a change. Doing the Carcass cover was a blast cause I got to sing in a totally different manner.
